Fifty-nine percent of voters surveyed think Donald Trump should close his personal account on the social network now that he's the president-elect, a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday shows. Tim Malloy, the poll's assistant director, summarized the findings this way: "You've got the job. Now be a leader, not a tweeter."

I dunno if Trump should close his Twitter account. He might find he has difficulty putting his thoughts into words longer than 140 characters in length.

The media wants him to close his account so they can once again be the conduit between you and the government.

I say after all the false reporting and polls they need a time-out to collect their morals.

The orange rapist would stroke out during a twitter rage if SNL replaced Alec Baldwin with Rosie O'Donnell. Lorne Michaels could make America great again with a simple casting change.

My thoughts too. Who did the poll, CNN? Was it over sampled?

I don't want Trump to stop tweeting. Sure, if he did he'd gain a bit of personal dignity, but he's already proven he's immune to that concept.

Donald needs to keep on tweeting because it will accelerate contempt and boredom with him.

That would be awesome. Not the stroke part, the twitter rage part.

"He might find he has difficulty putting his thoughts into words longer than 140 characters in length."

But he told us he has the biggest words.

Trump's Twitter account is one of the strangest aspects of his personality. He seems to need it in large part to avenge all the little slights of his daily life. Fine for the average guy (well, not really), but he is soon to become America's most public person. Everything he does or says will be scrutinized, even more, far more, than it has been.

Most presidents try to be thoughtful, measured, wise. The calm in the eye of a storm. But DT's tweets often make him look less than presidential. Petty and vindictive are not qualities that reassure me. The markets, international relationships, the American psyche – these are all volatile things that can be damaged in an instant by intemperate comments.

Twitter must be a relief valve for him. But he'd be better off taking out his frustrations on a punching bag. Maybe half an hour in the gym. A quiet room to read up on history. The latest Wilco album on some killer headphones.

... after all the false reporting and polls ...

The national polls were accurate. They said Hillary would win the popular vote and she's on pace to win by 2 million votes and close to 2 percent.

That's closer to the final outcome than the polls were in 2012.

This may be a shock to you and our dumbass future POTUS, but polls are not a guarantee of future outcomes. They're a scientifically rigorous educated guess and a snapshot of a moment in time.

Stop pretending you know anything about polls. What you're doing is an attack on authority so that we only trust Dear Leader. That kind of thinking is where tyrants are made.

You're tired of false reporting so your solution is false tweeting?

Rcade the only accurate poll was the LA Times who had Trump winning the entire cycle.

That is until they let a DNC operative show them the errors of their ways, so for one week the Times had Hillary up.

And you know as well as I do you can make statistics say what ever you want them to say. Like Polls are magical or something.

Also, Newspapers are not an authority, They cannot tell you what to think but they can encourage what you think about by the opinions they print. that is your lack of understanding.

another reason why Hillary lost of course.

Your slipping...

Personally, I couldn't care less if he wants to embarrass himself, over and over, on Twitter. Some of America voted for this clown now all of America will be embarrassed by him. Thanks to "the poorly educated" that Trump loves. And, seriously, that is who elected him. Simpletons who actually believe his nonsense. You are fools. I will keep reminding you.

Rcade the only accurate poll was the LA Times who had Trump winning the entire cycle.

The L.A. Times wasn't accurate. It had Trump winning nationally by 3.2%. He's losing nationally by around 2%.

A poll wouldn't be accurate because it "had Trump winning the entire cycle." A poll is a snapshot in time. It shows the state of the race on that day. A poll in March is not accurate if the candidate who is ahead wins in November. People change their minds in response to events.

You should avoid talking about polls until you understand them.

YEP !!!

"Republican Donald Trump's lead among men and white voters all but vanishes as Democrat Hillary Clinton takes a 47 - 40 percent likely voter lead, with 7 percent for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson and 1 percent for Green Party candidate Jill Stein, according to a Quinnipiac University national poll released today.

This compares to a 45 - 40 percent Clinton lead in an October 7 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University. "

Rcade - you are splitting hairs.

Trump won. Like the Times predicted, week over week, month over month. A snapshot over time.

Just because California went heavily for Hillary does not change the fact.

I know math.

I understand politics.

You should stop trying to denigrate me because I know better.

Your upset and I understand that, but I did not cause your grief.

The Democrats did...
