Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, November 22, 2016

Donald Trump's Twitter war this weekend with the Broadway cast of Hamilton was the target of Seth Meyers' mockery on a segment of Late Night. "If you live in New York City, you would have bet everything you owned on Friday morning that it was impossible for people to talk about the musical Hamilton more," Seth Meyers said at the top of the Closer Look segment Monday night. "And by Saturday morning, you'd be broke." After noting Mike Pence's calm, mature response, Meyers observed that Trump "went a different way with it," spending most of his weekend in a "Twitter fight" with a Broadway musical. "But once he's done with that, it's on to you, ISIS!" the host joked.

As "fun" as this story is, Meyers made sure to point out that it is all one big "distraction" from a much more important story that could one day be told in the Broadway musical "Scamilton."

On Friday, Trump settled a fraud suit against his Trump University for $25 million. "Congratulations, America, we did it!" Meyers said.

"Our president will not have to go on trial before heading to the White House. It feels good to win again."

On top of that is the "apparent lack of separation between his business empire and his presidential transition," Meyers said. "You may recall that a common criticism of the Clintons was how they enriched themselves financially after leaving office," he added.

"Well, Trump is proving yet again that he is the anti-Clinton by enriching himself before he takes office."

"Twitter feuds may be fun, but we have to pay attention to what Team Trump is really up to," Meyers said, "because they want us to be distracted."

This guy was supposed to be tough. He was gonna stand up to Putin and kick ISIS in their asses.

How is it that he's getting bitch slapped by the cast of SNL and beat up by the cast of a broadway show...

Yes they want you to be distracted, and everybody fell for it.

..but if that's the case, Trump is more politically savvy that people give him credit for.

No, this just happens to him so often that it covers for other things.

Plus no one cares about the settlement. We all just assumed it was a scam anyway.

#5 I love how Trumpers have compromised their morals to the point they are actually lauding his prowess at scamming people.

And you wonder why the term "Mackris" has come to be slang for repulsive.

When you can't take a bit of ribbing from SNL, how the hell are you going to deal with hostile national adversaries?
We already know the answer, but 57 million were too stupid to care.

If Trump's goal was to change the focus of the news cycle, he succeeded. It's just such a tacky way of achieving such a minor success.

But Myers is part of the media cabal that has worked to divide Americans for decades over silliness, and while they do it they grab power and money and our tax subsidies. He might want to read some early racist non PC tweets from Brandon Victor Dixon....who had the audacity to dress down the VP.

In a March 2012 tweet, Dixon wrote, "St. Patty's day weekend is like Christmas for black dudes who like (drunk) white chicks. Happy holidays boys."

Or calling women Ho's? Read them below if interested.

OH MY.

Mr. Dixon has a made a series of racist, misogynist tweets.

So it goes.

I love the Trump lapdogs at Breitbart and elsewhere attacking a Broadway actor because he called Mike Pence "sir" and asked him to represent all Americans, causing a momentary burp of distress from Dear Leader.

No one knows or cares about Dixon's Twitter history. He's just an actor who said something on behalf of an entire cast of actors in support of tolerance and diversity.

I guess you should dig into the backgrounds of all the actors on that stage. Only then will Dear Leader's hurt be avenged.

Hop to it!
