Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Franklin Graham, son of famed preacher Billy Graham, has urged Christians to vote for thrice married, casino owner Donald Trump. According to Graham, who feels Trump has been chosen by God, the reality TV star was the only thing standing between Christians and death camps.

"The liberal Democrats are openly hostile to Christians," said Graham in an interview on WEHW radio. "We won't survive four more years of Democrat-led government. I can see them rounding Christians up and putting us in death camps unless we follow their laws that want to grant special rights to gays and transgender people."

"Christians need to vote for Trump, he embodies our values," said Graham.

Apparently, many Evangelical Christians feel they are under siege. FOX News commentator Bill O'Reilly has done several segments on the alleged "War on Christmas."

Right Wing Watch reported Carl Gallups, an End Times preacher, told World Net Daily that the U.S. government was currently at war with Christians.

That's what I say to my wife each morning when I get out of bed: "Honey, I hate you. And I hate me. Death camps for the both of us. I don't understand why we didn't go last Easter.

A recent study published June 2016 in Applied Cognitive Psychology connects belief in the supernatural (religious and paranormal beliefs) with poor reasoning skills, low information about basic physics and biology, and a propensity to assign intention and mentality to non-mental phenomena (magical thinking).

PsyPost reports the study shows that religious and paranormal (supernatural) beliefs are correlated with "poor intuitive physics skills, poor mechanical ability, poor mental rotation, low school grades in mathematics and physics, poor common knowledge about physical and biological phenomena, intuitive and analytical thinking styles, and in particular, with assigning mentality to non-mental phenomena."

PsyPost reports that researchers conclude that "Nonscientific ways of thinking are resistant to formal instruction…" adding that this can "affect individuals' ability to act as informed citizens to make reasoned judgments in a world that is increasingly governed by technology and scientific knowledge."

Such as kiddo diddling is okay as long as you don't get caught, or charities are for personal enrichment, or bigotry and racism are God given rights.

Among the worst of these has been the Evangelical slobbering over Drumpf. Although he greatly lacks in the character and genuine faith department, well-known Christian leaders have rallied around him for one reason alone: he isn't Hillary Clinton.

At the end of June, Dr. James Dobson announced that Drumpf was in fact a born-again Christian, as Susan Wright discussed here. It was a miracle. The Republican nominee wasn't Hillary and announced he loved Jesus? The GOP nominee was finally looking holy. The news must have settled some nervous souls. A few days later, though, Dobson backtracked and made it clear that Drumpf's conversion story could not be confirmed, as Leon Wolf wrote here. The chosen one wasn't looking so great.
