Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Eleven years ago, Gore swore that "the science is extremely clear now." Global warming was "magnifying" the "destructive power" of the "average hurricane," he said. Man's impact on the environment "makes the duration, as well as the intensity of the hurricane, stronger."

The weather refused to cooperate with Gore and the U.S. went 11 years without a hurricane making landfall.

Strain though they might, they're not convincing anyone who isn't already riding along on the climate-change disaster wagon. And they know they're not. So the climate-hysteria movement needs a new approach. It has to in essence redefine what a hurricane is so that what had before been tropical storms and hurricanes that didn't make landfall will in the future be catastrophic "hurricanes" or "extreme weather" events that they can point to as proof that their fever dreams are indeed reality.

I think the NHS forecast for this year was pretty close to "spot on". Storms are carefully monitored, evaluated, and classified. A "Major" hurricane is anything Cat 3 and higher, regardless of whether it hits land or not. There is a Cat 1 hurricane in the Atlantic right this minute.

Looked up some numbers: NHC does an initial forecast in May and an adjusted forecast in August.

"Named storms": they called 10-16 in May, 12-17 in August. Thus far, 14.

"Hurricanes": they called 4-8 in May, 5-8 in August. Thus far, 6.

"Major hurricanes": they called 1-4 in May, 2-4 in August. Thus far, 3.

They should open this up to sponsorship.
Whoever pays the most gets to put their competition's name on the storm, to create negative publicity.

"King tides cause flooding across South Florida"

"MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - King tides have been to blame for flooded roadways and residential streets across South Florida these past few days, and meteorologists said the tidal trouble was at its worst on Sunday night.

King tides turned streets into rivers in Miami Beach, as the full moon made the water rise. "It's annoying because you're trying to drive around, and a foot of water is everywhere," said local resident Andrew Dulac.

"Eventually, the water comes into the roads, comes into the streets, comes into our homes, possibly," said Miami Beach resident Norman Cohen.

Meanwhile, Las Olas Boulevard in Downtown Fort Lauderdale was overtaken by the tides. Parts of Cordova Road, also in Fort Lauderdale, were completely underwater."

Yea, who would have thought water would come into a coastal area...

Especially the low coastal areas. I can't believe it. That damn ocean should never change levels.

NOAA temperature fraud? The NOAA that's responsible for tracking hurricanes and keeping Americans safe?
