Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, October 16, 2016

A Republican Party county headquarters in North Carolina was burned and a nearby building vandalized Saturday night and police were hunting for those responsible on Sunday. The inside of the Orange County Republican Party headquarters in Hillsborough was severely damaged and an adjacent building was marked with spray painted graffiti reading "Nazi Republicans get out of town or else." A bottle of flammable liquid was thrown through the front window.

"You'd think they would be a little more capable of letting this kind of stuff roll off their back like most people do."

More insults have probably rolled off my back when I posted here that perhaps any other poster. I've still never plonked anyone. I was just a little take aback that an insult for Hillary Clinton was the first thing to occur in any poster's comments about a bomb destroying a GOP headquarters. There was no relationship between the two things, it's like anything anyone posts will provoke an insult for Hillary Clinton, it's just sort of ridiculous. It's stupid. I like to call out stupid.

On the other hand, we have Donald Trump tweeting: "Animals representing Hillary Clinton and Dems in North Carolina just firebombed our office in Orange County because we are winning @NCGOP."

All of this is irresponsible. [emphasis added] There is no evidence as to who did this, and certainly no evidence this is connected to the Clinton campaign. Let the police and the FBI do their job and stop speculating as to who did it. We will find out in time. Whoever did it deserves our condemnation.

Obvious false flag. Drumpf is losing NC, and has been getting killed by all the negative media. They likely cleared the office of anything of value and then torched it. And voila they get some positive media in a must-win state, and maybe rally their voters. The Reich, in particular Bannon and Alex Jones are very familiar with false flag operations, as Jones has claimed every mass shooting over the past few years had been staged to take away the 2 Ammendment. What's funny is that Hillary and Dems stole their thunder with a go fund me for the NCGOP.

One other thought: Drumpf has been the candidate sowing the seeds of hate. From his hateful rhetoric, to claims the election will be stolen, to encouragement to his brown shirts to violate federal law and harass people of color at their polling places. Sometimes that hate blows back on you in ways you you didn't anticipate. You Reichwingnuts always bash Obama for how careful he is about his words when he gets off-prompter. This is why. Words have meaning and consequences, especially for the most powerful man in the world.

Couldn't make this up. Imagine the lack of self awareness involved in lecturing other people about the careful use of words while using the term "Reichwingnuts".

And that's the exact kind of think I was talking about. The "GOP is literally Nazis!" hysteria is what makes people think it is OK to attack people at rallies and burn down offices. Beating up a person for having different political beliefs than you is completely wrong. But it is OK to beat up a "reichwingnut".

I'm glad the GOP is destroying itself. But watching what is now by far the most powerful political party in the US using these demonization tactics that they know damn well readily leads to violence is not a welcome development.

Democrats Raise More Than $13,000 To Rebuild Firebombed GOP Office
www.huffingtonpost.com

David Weinberger, a research fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School...Weinberger, Arizona State University professor Dan Gillmor and a few others soon joined forces to create the GoFundMe page bearing this message:

"As Democrats, we are starting this campaign to enable the Orange County, North Carolina Republican office to re-open as soon as possible.

Until an investigation is undertaken, we cannot know who did this or why. No matter the result, this is not how Americans resolve their differences. We talk, we argue, sometimes we march, and most of all we vote. We do not resort to violence by individuals or by mobs.

So, let's all pitch in, no matter what your party affiliation, in and get that office open again quickly."

The campaign was not an official effort by the Democratic Party, Jeff Jarvis, professor and director of the Tow-Knight Center for Entrepreneurial Journalism at the City University of New York's Graduate School of Journalism, wrote on the GoFundMe page.

"It is the effort of a half-dozen Democrats (of which I am one). This is a moment for graciousness, not fractiousness," Jarvis wrote.

I don't know who was responsible for this action, but I am capable to looking objectively at the various players involved.

The vast majority of Clinton supporters do not seem to me to be fired up ( pun not intended ) enough to want to torch a GOP office. Is it not a common charge that Clinton cannot match Trump's ability to enthuse supporters? The faction of the Democrats who are most angry, in general the left, are not angry with Trump, but with Clinton. They would be more likely to attack one of Clinton's offices.

Whilst it seems to be true that the bulk of Trump's supporters are angry, their anger is not just focused on Clinton. Trump has declared war on the GOP and the GOP leadership has all but abandoned him. My view is that if the guilty are found, they are most likely to be Trump supporters angered by the GOP and protesting against what they see as a betrayal of Trump.

This is not in my view a typical false flag operation.

When they arrest a suspect, THEN I'll join in the bashing. Until then, I recall the 2008 charade (two weeks before the election) where a Texas woman tried to carve "Obama" in her own face and filed a false police report, charging that two black men held her down, mutilating her face supposedly for being a Republican. She was caught by surveillance cameras at the bank where the alleged assault took place--oops, no black men there. So, forgive me for not jumping in with hysterics until an arrest has been made. Oh yeah...and NC Dems have already crowd-funded the entire cost of repair, in less than 24 hours. Please, remind me again how it's the Republican Party that is the "Christian" party.

And you think Putin is not "bogged down"?

Interesting.

Naturally. Others disagree.

It's been one year since Russia began bombing in Syria, and there may be no end in sight.

This week, the White House said it had begun considering tougher measures against Assad's government and forces -- including military options. If the U.S. resorts to the military options, the victories Damascus has won with Moscow's help could look Pyrrhic.

"It is unclear what to do next," Moscow-based analyst Sergei Strokan said in an interview. "Assad has been saved, but [the current situation] is not what we counted on."

(A) group of Dems came together to raise money to rebuild the headquarters with a Go Fund Me account. Within 40 minutes Dems raised over $13,000.

The Dems said, "This is not how Americans resolve their differences."

"We talk, we argue, sometimes we march, and most of all we vote. We do not resort to violence by individuals or by mobs," the group said. "So, let's all pitch in, no matter what your party affiliation, and get that office open again quickly."
And most of the donors repeated the sentiment.

"Not a Republican, but we all stand together against such anti-democratic violence," one person wrote, while another said, "This Democrat from Indiana hopes you're able to get your back to your office as soon as possible."

But the latest O'Keefe video shows

Every single "O'Keefe video" has been proven to be a heavily edited propaganda turd.

But keep believing them, Aescal. And while you're at it, find Fiorino's baby killing video and that Michelle Obama "hate whitey video". But whatever you do, don't believe the videos of Cheeto Childmolester bragging about being a pedophile.

"When North Carolina's Orange County GOP offices were set aflame, Democrats rallied in support, raising money to repair and rebuild the facility. Now, only a few days later, North Carolina's Republican spokeswoman admitted on NBC that the burned offices were housing completed absentee ballots. If that actually is the case then the Republican Party in North Carolina just confessed to committing a felony."
