Scientific American evaluates responses from Clinton, Trump, Johnson and Stein to 20 questions.

Overall, Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton scored highest in our readers' estimation, as well as our own, followed by Green Party candidate Jill Stein. Republican Party candidate Donald Trump came in last on all counts. One PhD in biology wrote, "Trump's answers demonstrate an almost complete ignorance of science or the importance of these imposing problems facing us in maintaining a livable world for everyone." A clinical microbiologist with 25 years of experience added, "[Trump's] answers show how uninformed he is on the issues."

#1 - Because Scientific American is known for its partisan political BS? Interesting.

More like butt-hurt on all those Trump "0 out of 5" scores.

Yep, you told me, convinced me it's a neutral mag. with no political intentions here.

Apparently you're the one who is butt hurt because I don't lock step in what you think, particularly politically.

Just reading how they convolutedly came to their conclusions shows the political obtuseness of their supposed SCIENCE.

"the political obtuseness of their supposed SCIENCE."

So you're in favor of politically correct "science."

No sooprise there.

No, I am in favor of actual science, politics should have nothing to do with it.

#5 | Posted by Crassus at 2016-10-16 09:12 AM | Reply

But it is now surprise you're in favor of opinion science :P

I'm in favor of learning what a SA panel thinks of the candidates' grasp of science.

It's only politics if you're so blinkered you can't recognize a scientific buffoon when you see one in your idol Trump.

The whole thing isn't scientific at all, it is all opinion with which they want funds they think which representatives will support their interest.

Just because the title of the Mag. is SA doesn't at all mean it is scientific, and clearly this opinion piece is not.

They should just say they think Hillary will spend more in our direction and be done with it.

More evidence that everything is politicized in American culture. Sports commentators have turned into political pundits, while sports fans don't give a crap about Espn's political views. Next up, Bon Appetit will rate candidates on their gastronomical tastes. Comic books are turning to politically correct superheroes. Motor Trend will rate candidates for their choices in limousines. Fashion magazines will rate candidates on their sartorial choices; Home and Garden on their landscaping. Tiger Beat will name the most Justin Bieber friendly candidate. UFO Magazine will endorse Rodham, as will Cigar Aficianado. Classic Toy Trains will speculate on what candidate is best for toy train hobbyists. Dogs USA will endorse Trump, Frogs USA will endorse Rodham. Coin Collectors will find some excuse to make an endorsement, as will stamp collector magazines. Popular Photography will rate the candidates on who is most photogenic. Aquarium USA will choose the most aquarium-friendly candidate. Down Beat will endorse Rodham because her husband can play the sexophone. Field and Stream will endorse Trump; Soccer America, Rodham. Antique Power is still supporting Grandpa Sanders. Backpacker supports Jill Stein and Alien Abductions, Gary Johnson. Linux Magazine's coveted endorsement will be revealed next week.

...and that's not all, oh no, that's not all. Hillary also is number one in involuntary US military nation building (aka chaos death & destruction), free trade agreements w/ open borders and supporting criminal bankers against the best interests of general population, just like Bush and Obama.

I got the same impression when I read the first post.

Read the first question and answers and see it is all pandering political BS.

Which in your world is anything that doesn't immediately support your current conclusions.

Hillary Clinton gives the right answers.

As she always does.

She's a true politician.

#14 | Posted by ClownShack at 2016-10-16 07:08 PM | Reply

But. I wonder what she actually believes.

#15 | Posted by ClownShack at 2016-10-16 07:10 PM | Reply

Oh, she probably believes in liberty and justice for all, or some such nonsense.

"Drumpf's answers demonstrate an almost complete ignorance of science

At least he's consistent in his ignorance. I just wonder how his scientific ignorance compares to his Constitutional ignorance.

Hillary serves the .01% in her never ending quest for payoffs.

A firm grasp of science could only make her more efficient at screwing us.

Hillary serves the .01%

Well at least she serves someone other than herself.
Clinton: More Democratic by 0.01%.
Your endorsement is noted. :)
