Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Donald Trump's campaign is "pulling out of Virginia," a move that stunned staff in the battleground state, three sources with knowledge of the decision told NBC News. The decision came from Trump's headquarters in New York and was announced on a conference call late Wednesday that left some Republican Party operatives in the state blindsided. Two staffers directly involved in the GOP's efforts in Virginia confirmed the decision. The move to pull out of Virginia shows Trump is "running essentially a four-state campaign," with the focus now shifting to battlegrounds critical to his chances in November: Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio, a source with knowledge of the decision told NBC News.

Former state director for Trump's campaign in Virginia, Corey Stewart, who was recently fired by the Trump campaign for organizing a protest outside Republican National Committee headquarters, called the move "totally premature."

Virginia has been considered a battleground state since President Barack Obama won it in 2008 after decades of Republican presidential victories there. Trump has trailed Clinton in every poll in Virginia since August, by a margin that's only widened over the last month.

The decision, Stewart said, "makes it next to impossible to win the state," though he insisted it was winnable if the campaign had just invested in advertising

Must be almost out of money.

The RNC ain't wasting any more money on him. I expect the Russian mob has also been told to quit wasting their money. And don't forget Putin is down to his last kopecks.

And speaking of wasting things. Dr's Team Trumpeter ain't exactly burning electrons defending the Cheeto Childmolester any more, are they?

Right. He's our of other people's money.

Either that, or he doesn't own any businesses in Virginia that he can give campaign cash to.

Trump the businessman is making decisions no rational politician would make. It's all become a money deal for him.

If only his father had pulled out of his mother, this whole crapfest would not have happened.

I fear that Drumpf has irreparably damaged our political process. The next time, Repubs will run a smoother version of Drumpf, with all the Alt-Right attachments but with none of the sexual assault history. His acolytes don't seem the least bit turned off by him, in spite of his racist, fascist views and tje sexual assaults. It scares me that a smoother version of somebody like that might pick up a portion of the middle and actually win.

He's focusing on the battleground states he hopes to win - Texas, Utah, North Dakota and Mississippi.
