Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, October 12, 2016

Michelle Fields, Huffington Post: Glenn Beck's website The Blaze is coming apart, suffering from a lack of editorial direction, staff attrition and internal discord, according to sources inside the news outlet. The site, which Beck launched in 2010 to serve as the conservative counterpart to The Huffington Post, has dropped from 25 employees on its editorial side to just six. A source inside The Blaze, who requested anonymity for fear of retribution, told HuffPost that the mood among the rapidly diminishing news team is somber. "The few people who are still left are looking for an exit because they know The Blaze is over," the source said. "They haven't told us straight up that they're done with us, but all the signs point to it, and they're not replacing people who are laid off or get out."

He bought an armored limousine and had private security?

That's a lot of money for somebody that might, maybe, be the target of a pie.

I never read the blaze. I've heard Beck on AM on car rides - he was a crying man-child - and I don't understand how he got so popular.

But then, I don't get Rush Limbaugh either.

All the tough guys are crying man-children dude, don't you get it?

The best are the ones who decided to become soldiers because that was a fun thing they played when they were kids.

Please note I am not disparaging all soldiers only the "tough guys."

Oh this was an actual website? I thought this is like a print magazine that went to old people and so many of them were dying off that it wasn't worth printing anymore.

How do you have a website go out of business? It costs having your computer plugged into the wall.

Yes I know there are bandwith cost but they become zero as nobody comes to your web page anymore.

The Invasion of Iraq. Like him or not, his coverage of events like Saddam's statue being brought down were reasonably compelling, and his reach skyrocketed shortly after. The birth of the Tea Party movement just stepped on the gas pedal, before hitting Trump's Wall.

If totally fabricated. The US Army brought down the statue in front of a few bussed in Iranian agents, aka Bush's Beloved INC.

I blame Emascula-TED. His admission his wife is a sleazy dog and his daddy offed JFK made Beck's brain go bye-bye.

True story. Beck is into fabrication. Remember the Vicks Vapo rub escapade? But he is apparently a hero to the fake plastic people.

Beck should become a Bevis and Butthead evangelist. His radio broadcast sounds like those 2 boys with the snickering and gigging.

How do you have a website go out of business?

Beck runs it like a TV studio. Fake Oval Office sets (talk about your delusions of adequacy), production crews and those 3 creepy guys he always has on stage ain't cheap you know. And I expect the first check cut every month is his paycheck.

Just like Trump's stage after his birther retraction, and his whole campaign for that matter. The crazy only takes you so far.

When the walls come tumblin' down
When the walls come crumblin', crumblin'
When the walls come tumblin', tumblin'
Tumblin' tumblin'
Down

Yeah, that's why it was compelling on the surface and grabbed listeners. It was well executed propaganda for the time.

True, but if The Blaze does go belly up, AFLAC is gonna take it hard. Very hard indeed.

Beck started out with great historical education about the founding of this country. He dispelled a lot of conventional wisdom and misinformation right up to the current political corruption.

Then something happened to him? My theory is that George Soros finally broke him.

From his orbiting Death Star, right? There is something about media attention that makes rightwingers go nuts. I guess it's all the attention they get that they never got as children. Of course, being a Mormon, Beck was pretty much unhinged to begin with.
