Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, September 21, 2016

All major party nominees for president going back nearly 40 years have released their tax returns except Donald Trump. That leads to a simple question: What is he hiding?

It is odd that Mr. Trump, who demanded proof on paper that President Obama was born in the United States, would expect voters to take on faith his own claims about his commercial successes, his dealings with business partners, what he gives to charity and other financial matters that could conflict with his duties if elected president. His tax returns are the only documents that can conclusively corroborate or disprove his claims and allay concerns about conflicts of interest.

Mr. Trump has offered nothing but fallacious excuses for keeping his returns secret....

Mr. Trump says he wants to fix a "rigged" political system controlled by a powerful elite. But by refusing to subject himself to the most basic level of financial scrutiny he is disqualifying himself as candidate.

The panic in the media is palpable. They have backed Hillary and she is so horrible that even with their backing she is losing.

Now they are latching onto anything. He said "bomb"... They add words to his speeches to make him sound bad. They edit words out of Hillary's speeches. They show larger crowds at Hillary events.

Then they wonder why they are held in contempt.

Looks like Hillary is taking the rest of the week off to sleep. I hope she's OK. What's your contingency plan? Try to put her body double in the whitehouse.

Notice that neither of the two Trumpkin clowns who've shown up can actually deal with the subject of three NYT editorial.
Sad.
So sad.

I've already told you. There's no need to see Trump's taxes until after the election. Get over it.

The media doesn't control Mr. Trump. Mr. Trump controls the media. President Trump will release his taxes after the election so the media can have their frenzy while he's busy making America great again.

Yeah, it's not as if it's been common practice for nearly forty years. It's not as if Trump has insisted that everyone else release their tax returns, birth certificates, medical records, college transcripts...

He's hiding something. His ego would love to prove what a great business man he is but his returns surely show otherwise.

#13 | Posted by Derek_Wildstar at 2016-09-21 02:15 PM | Reply

The IRS already said he can release his tax returns even though he's still being audited. Too bad Trump didn't know that, otherwise he wouldn't have sound like such an idiot providing such a baseless excuse. There is nothing stopping Trump from releasing his returns except for Trump.

Is THE MEDIA keeping trump from releasing his tax returns?

Not releasing his returns is not just "anything". It's hiding critical information about himself.

Why do YOU think he refuses to do so?

By giving the rich trillions in tax cuts that the rest of us will have to pay off?

Is that what you call "great?"

Trump offered to release his taxes if Hillary released the 30,000 missing e-mail messages.

I guess that's why he's such a brilliant negotiator, as a fair trade of taxes for taxes is not favorable for anyone... except voters.

A lot of people say the reason Trump wont release his taxes is because he has never paid any taxes. They say he never pays tax.

The word I hear is that he just gets money from the government.

You know, that's what I hear. Believe me. He has never paid taxes, just cashed his corporate welfare government cheese checks. Trust me, that is why he wont release them.

You also hear that he is up to his comb-over, tangled up with the Mob! Both Russian Mafia and the New Your mafia too. That's what a lot of people say, I mean, trust me, Trump pays no taxes at all.

Believe me.

ONe thing is absolutely certain, he won't release his taxes because he knows there are things in them that would cause his supporters to change their minds.
