Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, September 16, 2016

In a TV appearance touting her father's newly released maternity leave and child care plans, Ivanka Trump said that the Trump Organization provided all of its thousands of employees with paid maternity leave. If it does, that's news to employees at many of the Trump Organization's hotels. The Huffington Post on Wednesday morning checked the validity of Ivanka Trump's comments to ABC. Employees at the Trump SoHo, New York and Miami hotels, as well as the Mar-a-Lago Club in Florida, all said that they do not offer workers paid maternity leave. Instead, they said that the company complied with the Family and Medical Leave Act, a federal law that requires companies to give employees up to 12 weeks of unpaid time off for the adoption or birth of a child

The apple didn't fall far from the tree. Now ivanka is Lying for Trump.
Don't they realize that their lies are easy to spot?
Or are they used to their rubes accepting their lies without question?
Sad!

Lie upon lie.
This lie alone should sink him, but no.
Add to it the lie about Clinton not having a plan when she's worked these issues for decades and has had plans on her website for many months - and in greater detail than anything Trump has offered. Plans that cover the entire family.
Then there's the fact that this is maternity leave only. That's so backwards - such an archaic sexist notion. Plus it works against women.

It doesn't matter if Trump lies. He could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and lie about every topic under the sun from now until the cows come home, and he wouldn't lose any votes. I was surprised at the ease with which Ivanka lied, but I guess I shouldn't be. As Bored said: the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Who wouldn't believe a pretty lying face like that?

She probably had similar plans as far back as 2008, but don't expect Ivanka and her daddy to ever admit that.

Back to the Trumps' plan, for which Donald credits Ivanka: "She is the one who has been pushing for it so hard: 'Daddy, daddy we have to do this,'" he reportedly stated. (Go ahead and take a moment to recover from that involuntary full-body shudder induced by the idea of a woman in her mid-thirties calling her father "Daddy." We good? OK.)

Yeah, gotta say I find it weird that a 30-something, married, professional woman and mother herself still refers to her father as "daddy".

Yep, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree:

Ivanka Trump Shuts Down in the Face of Basic Questions From Cosmopolitan Magazine

First, Trump responded in anger, threatening to walk away from the interview. "So I think that you have a lot of negativity in these questions," she said. "I think my father has put forth a very comprehensive and really revolutionary plan to deal with a lot of issues. So I don't know how useful it is to spend too much time with you on this if you're going to make a comment like that." (It's true that many Republicans have not gone as far as Trump does in his new policy on issues like paid maternity leave and child care. Still, Hillary Clinton put forward a more aggressive plan months ago, a fact Trump refuses to acknowledge.)

Next came denial. After Gupta pointed out that she was simply presenting a statement that the presidential candidate had made, Trump acted as if those comments never took place. "Well, you said he made those comments," she said. "I don't know that he said those comments."

Finally, Trump was able to return to the topic of the plan. After Gupta pointed out that she had been quoting an NBC interview transcript, Trump turned back to the plan by denying that anyone besides her father even had a plan. "There's plenty of time for you to editorialize around this, but I think he put forth a really incredible plan that has pushed the boundaries of what anyone else is talking about," she said. "On child care specifically, there are no proposals on the table." This is, of course, not true.

BTW, I agree that who one votes for doesn't give them license of any superiority.

I'm superior to virtually all of you but who I vote for is insignificant as to why.

Challenge for BOAZ:

Can you identify one lie per decade of that 30 year span that of which you speak?

Of course Hillary would say that.

She's a white woman with perfectly pedicured toes.

Everytime Boaz sees her, he falls to his knees and gives her feet a tongue bath.

I love how whenever a repub wants government to do something, they say they'll pay for it "by eliminating fraud and abuse".

In other words, instead of asking the insanely rich to support their nation, they'll pay for it with fictional fraud money, creating more debt that the NON rich have to pay off.

Ivanka has learned to lie very well. She is a great liar. She had a great teacher. And she had lots of practise when teachers would ask her if her daddy touched her on her private places.

All of the Drumpfs are liars, it is just a matter of how they do it. Ivanka and Melania are beautiful and do it with a smile, so it's more like a silenced .22 in the back of the head as opposed to Fat Donnie, who spews lie after lie along with his hateful rhetoric from his rectum shaped pie hole in his big orange face, so for him the lies are like a .50 caliber machine gun. The Ivanka lies are sometimes easy to write off as mistakes, while the orange pig just overwhelms with lies to the point that you don't know where to start unpacking.

What's hilarious, a few years ago Drumpf claimed he offered on-site daycare for his employees. When the media (when they were actually doing their fact checking jobs) checked that statement, they learned that the on-site daycare was actually for guests, and there was no such program for employees.

It's great that a blatent misogynist who famously said that his only act in the raising of his children was "writing a check" has a "maternity leave" plan. He has also complained that employees getting pregnant is hard on a business. Hillary's plan is far more comprehensive and was released months ago, but the Trumpeteers could care less.

Amazing an intelligent person like Boaz would buy Trump line, hook, and sinker and not care one iota about his myriad of lies and 180 and 360 changes of positions, none of which came with details.

Hillary's lies revolve around pay to play, sour real estate deals, private servers, rationalizations for going to war and free trade.

Free Trade Agreements have little to do with free trade and everything to do with protecting the profits of the 1%.

There is a quid pro quo between donations to the Clinton Foundation and State Department approvals of arms sales. This is a crime against innocent women and children, albeit foreign.

The Clintons have persistently denied any quid pro quo, which is a serial lie going back to Arkansas. The truth is Bill lost his Governorship when he tried to do the right thing for the people of Arkansas. His career was revived when he agreed to play ball with Tyson, Weyerhaeuser and Walmart. But, pay to play is not something invented and executed exclusively by the Clintons. These practices are the rule and sadly, it is risky to break those rules. Look what happened to Kucinich, a genuinely unimpeachable public servant.

Hillary lacks Bill's charisma. She is a terrible candidate in that her record clearly paints a picture of someone who has sold out to the 1%, particularly the military industrial complex. But so has Bernie, albeit to a lesser extent. Hillary is still a much better candidate than Trump, who exhibits extraordinary ignorance and dangerous personality disorders.
