Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

A police officer has resigned after pointing a rifle at protesters during demonstrations in Ferguson, Missouri, and telling them "I will ------- kill you." Another officer has been fired for inappropriate social media posts about the protesters. At a protest on Aug. 19, Ray Albers, a police officer in the neighboring community of St. Ann, pointed his rifle at a Ferguson protester during a heated verbal exchange, an episode that was captured on video. He resigned under threat of being fired. Matthew Pappert, who worked in the nearby city of Glendale, was fired on Thursday for comments he made on Facebook during the protests. He said on Facebook protesters should be "put down like rabid dogs."

If the Ferguson cop, had used a taser or pepper spray to subdue Mr Brown both of these unfortunate "victims" would still have the financial means to support their families.

Both cops show a deeper problem. I doubt they're the only 2 in the bunch. I further doubt this problem is isolated to Ferguson.

These two will be thrown under the bus while the higher-ups escape any scrutiny.

#9 yep they won the whack-a-mole lottery.

I suppose we should pay attention to the Invisible Hand of the Free Market as it states the case for police brutality.

"The beatings will continue until morale improves."

So you hope.

Desperately clinging to the 'few bad apples' line of thought.

Has it occurred to you that a large number of our cops are piles of [...] who have no business carrying weapons?

It would be nice to see some more firings in response to how the cops behaved after the shooting, which escalated the unrest.

#11 Read the words that are there, not the words you imagine to be there. I was commenting on these two individuals without making a blanket condemnation or condoning of other officers.

I am clinging to no "few bad apples" line of thought.

I think all human beings are drastically worse than they imagine and we should not be surprised when we see that come from the realm of thoughts to the realm of action. Because of this I think we should be extra cautious with all individuals, especially people with power.

Read your personal thoughts into the words of someone else next time.
