Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, August 27, 2014

The CEO of one of North America's largest sports arena catering companies was caught on a Vancouver high-rise elevator surveillance video abusing a friend's one-year-old dog. The video from July shows Desmond (Des) Hague of Centerplate Inc. kicking the dog in the stomach repeatedly and yanking its leash so the dog is lifted off the ground choking. The dog recovered, but animal cruelty charges may be filed. "This incident is completely and utterly out of character and I am ashamed and deeply embarrassed," Hague said. Centerplate, which has contracts with nine NFL teams, originally said this was a personal matter but then censured Hague and will donate $100,000 to the Safe Foundation "in honor of the dog he mistreated."

I gotta say, I'm having a hard time figuring out what this most successful gentleman did wrong. What do you not understand about the word dominion? Thank you for his resume.

-Mitt Romney

Sorry. Poor taste indeed.

From what I understand he's not in the NFL but rather the CEO of a large catering company called Centerplate.

They put a condition on continuation of being CEO that he has to create a 100k foundation in the name of the dog and perform something like 1000 hours community service that deals with abused animals.

Here's the company's response:

The twist on this, is that this is just to keep his job, as far as I can tell, he's not actually been charged yet

Let's hope this guy doesn't self identify as a 'Christian':

What an -----.

Thankfully he didn't kick real hard. But he was quite violent with the leash.

This guy needs BBob to give him a good work over with an antenna.

I hope he's charged, convicted, and gets jail time.

Per the article, if convicted he'll also be banned from owning a pet for the rest of his life, as it should be.
