Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, August 24, 2014

A crowdfunding appeal on GoFundMe created to support Ferguson, Missouri, police officer Darren Wilson and his family raised $235,000. People could leave comments after donating to the fund for Wilson, who shot and killed unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown on Aug. 9, and some of them were openly racist. One donor told Wilson, "We appreciate your service in the animal control division of the Ferguson police department." GoFundMe later removed the comments.

"America's Toughest Sheriff" Joe Arpaio will gladly welcome him with open arms. Rejected wannabe cops from around the country, have found their way to Maricopa County (and Pinal County) Both counties have paid the price, with over $100 million dollars paid out in law suits (not counting lawyer fees) in just a few years. The fact
that Mr Wilson is white, and has one "kill" on his belt, will move him to the front of the hiring line.

Wilson appears to be a real lowlife, unsuitable for police work, just like Zimmerman. But a portion of this country automatically loves him for what he did to a young black man. Same people that harbor a gut level, delusional, hatred for Obama.

Or, it could be that some feel he's being lynched in the court of public opinion without anyone having all of the facts and feel sympathetic toward him as a result.

#14,

Possibly, but the disbanded police hate group that he used to belong to strongly suggests otherwise. None of which will effect the outcome of his on-duty behavior, at least on the local level. He'll only really need the money if he's charged with violating Michael Brown's civil rights by the Feds.

As of right now pretty much all the feds have is that Wilson is white and Brown is black (I like how that sounded).

IMO Team Obama made a mistake injecting them into the Trayvon Martin controversy and they are making the same mistake here. I really think they are jumping the gun with their involvement in this. That's not to say that at some point federal involvement may be warranted, I just think that it hasn't yet reached that level with this one.

A big reason we don't have the facts is because Ferguson's police department has been actively covering them up. For days, it wouldn't even tell people how many times Brown was shot, and as far as I know never has released the official autopsy. The public also has never been told exactly what Wilson told the other officers that day about what he did.

These things are done by police departments all over the country when an officer-involved shooting happens. For some reason Ferguson doesn't think it is accountable to the public.

At lease every now and then they are held accountable. Wilson's previous policing unit was disbanded and so was a West Valley Narcotics Squad in Salt Lake Valley when one of their's shot dead a 17 year old female meth addict in the back. Investigation found so much corruption in the West Valley squad that they replaced the Police Chief. They lose their jobs, but they don't go to jail.

It's strange. I can't fully have an opinion of officer Wilson (due to the secrecy of the Ferguson police), though it's beginning to look as though there is a certain segment of our country that is willing to pay a "bounty" to any high profile non-black shooter of a black man.

When a electric charging station is inop?

Why would one call the DEA for something like that?

what ? so do you think the Brown family will pay one penny for anything.....and this guys' not gonna have a huge lawyer bill...

so now thanks to everything else your president and party has done to 'divide and conquer'...a white cop won't be allowed to accept donations for his defense ?

gee...who would have ever thought to predict stuff like this happening in 2007...

oh yeah...ALL OF US from the right...

#25, OK afkunable, I will grant you that in any one case the conclusions of so called libs and rednecks on this site can and are wrong. But statistically, libs are right. Contrary to the fantasies of the Supreme Court Conservative alliance of five Catholics, we are still a racist society and the probability of being killed for no damn good reason for being Hispanic or especially a young black male, are huge, compared to other groups, as certainly as white women are protected.

If there are so many of these killings how come we rarely hear about it [maybe FauxNews is paying off the 'other' media to not report, LOL]? Actually this is made into a 'big deal' because a white cop shooting an unarmed black man [or hispanic] is pretty rare, so 'huge' it is not.

disgusting and shameful...right on cue...

NUT....if that were all to the issue, it would be different.

I've had black students who got arrested and I've had black students who were interns to congressmen in washington....so why one and then the other?

I know we can all make a joke about the ones in congressional offices but they didn't get there by being bullies, stealing stuff and doing anything worthy of being arrested...I"m thinking of two specifically and they were born and raised in an east texas town of 640....what some liberal loudmouths might call prime territory for the law to abuse their power....

the question still...why was this guy anywhere near the cop ?

was he hanging with hie 'homies'..or what ? we of course don't know yet because of the race baiters, the poverty pimps and now the funeral RALLY hosted by the race baiting master....

Right. When you're listening to your Bette Midler hitslist on your iPod and the battery runs out again because you were Tweeting all morning about the fabulous new shoe store downstairs from your feng shui apartment.

This is humorous, it is to Wilson's safety to keep the facts from coming to light until it is done under oath. All one has to do is look at how the media and the conflicting brown witness's have spurred the story is so many direction all negatively to the cop.

The problems with the today democratic liberal is they are not interested in actual facts under oath because they don't follow oaths in the first place.

GoFundMe has been criticized for allowing the original Wilson page to continue, on the grounds that the slew of racist comments posted by Wilson supporters violates the company's terms of service. At the same time the site receives 5 percent of all donations. The company's compromise was to shut down comments.

Yawn. I heard that harpy Dana Loesch ranting about this the other morning.

Ironic considering how little "evidence" it takes you righties to "convict" anyone who disagrees with you.

Objectivity only fits when it suits your purpose, which is usually pretty good evidence that speculation is warranted.

Unarmed, hands up, don't shoot. Six bullets later, two to the head and another one bites the dust. What follows is a systematic police cover-up and suppression of information to protect another police shooter. Just like the Zimmerman case, money floods in from the same people that hate Obama. But, they should never do this to a white girl.

Shooting unarmed black men (boys) is becoming a profitable enterprise.
I wonder how many of those contributors would actually pay in advance of a murder? I'm thinking more than a few. Sickness.

""It's now over $400,000"

Or in other words, it's about a week of 1 lawyers' fees for the fake "conservatives" lawsuit against Obama

Anyway, if I were a racist gun fetishist I would be very disappointed. If this amount is supposed to signify something, it's a miniscule amount in comparison to other crowd funding and rather embarrassing.

In comparison, crowd funding for reading rainbow collected 6.5 million in just a few days, the first million in only 11 hours.
