Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, August 21, 2014

A man who was a regular at police precinct community council meetings in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, was convicted Wednesday of making a rash of fake calls to the city's 911 system, reporting fictional crimes such as a subway tunnel explosion, armed person in a van and a threat to stab the caller after a loud music dispute. Louis Segna faces up to seven years in prison. Police figured Segna was making the calls after a commander recognized his voice as someone who spoke at meetings of the precinct community council. The 54-year-old's attorney, William Fowlkes, said Segna was a Williamsburg resident rattled by changes to his neighborhood. "He has mentioned the word 'hipsters' to me," Fowlkes said.

If the worst thing happening to your neighborhood is an influx of hipsters you're lucky.
