Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, August 19, 2014

Facebook has begun labeling some fake news stories with a "satire" tag in links on the social media site. Sam Machkovech of Ars Technica reports, "We can only assume this was implemented as a reaction to users believing that Onion links are nonfiction reports ... but we're not sure what compelled Facebook to go so far as to assert editorial control." A Facebook employee said the move is a "small test" and told the site it was in response to "feedback that people wanted a clearer way to distinguish satirical articles."

When is it coming to Drudge?

I am sure the one's embarrassed by the Onion articles still have their panties knotted.

This flag is necessary - some Onion articles are borderline believable.

How strange that people search for news on Facebook!? I use it maybe a couple times each year because it's still just a social networking site.

it's probably good about the ONION or the newsbusters fake news broadcast...the problem is that this white house is so radical and out of control that the wildest satire is more than a little close to being what actually happens.

6: Oh, please. The only thing deeply radical here is your interpretation of this administration.

Satire flag.

It has to be satire because on one would post such nonsense seriously.
