Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, August 17, 2014

A New York cop who saved the life of a two-month-old girl who stopped breathing 20 years ago will be a guest at her wedding Sunday. Joe Barca, a captain at the Yonkers police department, drove from New York to Chicago for the nuptials of Shammah Hamideh. He used CPR to save her as a baby and she recovered fully. "Major details of that day are stuck in my head pretty firmly because they were so life-changing," said Barca, who sent Hamideh a birthday card ever year.
