Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, August 12, 2014

The National Republican Congressional Committee, which came under fire earlier this year for a deceptive series of fake Democratic candidate websites that it later changed after public outcry, has launched a new set of deceptive websites, this time designed to look like local news sources. The NRCC has created about two dozen of these new faux news sites targeting Democrats, both challengers and incumbents, and is promoting them across the country with localized Google search ads.

No, as I have explaned before our system almost guarantees a 2 party system. Third parties only serve to entrench minority power. We have so many who complain about the two parties but few ever suggest the actual changes to the system that are required to change it.

If you think these news sites are real news sites, and you are foolish enough not to scroll down to the bottom of the page to take in all information on the site... you deserve to be duped by such an hilariously poor depiction of a news site.

Campaign finance reform has been discussed in great depth. If the two parties that are beholden to special interests weren't able to use their special interest money as freely, other messages would get through.

The real problem is with voters being lazy idiots who root on a political party like a sports team. The "two party system" is not a two party system due to legistlation.

Considering democrats have NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNN and PBS - why is this news? Dan Rather made up news and millions believed him - with no disclaimer at the bottom of the TV screen even.

As usual, faux outrage and trolling by the DR left.

Ok, so so far the right wing responses are:

"Well it's the reader's fault for believing the lies, not the liars' fault for lying to them."
and
"Well all news is propaganda so it's okay."

Is that about it? Nice party you got there...

Why even bother with political parties who corrupt and stagnate progress of America....Seems to me if you eliminate the greed of power, you gain a honest down to Earth perspective of what direction we need to go

This 2 party football game is old, and I rather have a 1000 parties compromising, than 2 parties undermining each other

Most of us would but the system itself needs to be changed to allow that to happen. In a winner take all system, as we have, we are doomed to two major parties because any third party just takes votes away from whichever of the two other parties has views most similar to their own thereby allowing the minority to win.

Yeah, just blame the boomers and give up hope, great strategy for the future. The fact that you didn't understand what I posted or are just too obstinate to try and get the logic of it and thus understand why it is that we are left with a two party system is exactly what I expected from you.

#16 Who's fault would it be, beside the reader, for believing a lie? No one made them believe the lie... they chose to believe it.

If people would stop deceiving themselves, this would be a much better world.

I did not exclude the people posting the site were in the wrong, I simply claimed the idiots who believe it are shown to receive what they deserve.

As has been pointed out, it is plain as day that these are false news sites. And since it is plain as day, they are no different than any other attack ads.

You won't fix anything until you properly diagnose the problem. And it's not partisanship. It's reaganomics- Taking care of the rich at the expense of everyone else. The dems bought into it, but the republicans created it and sold it to america. You will find dems willing to try a different path, whereas republicans are still passionately pursuing reaganomics despite 30 years of evidence that it only helps the rich. That's not partisanship, it's history.

#37 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2014-08-14 01:12 PM | Reply | Flag:

Its Reaganomics -- also known as Kennedynomics.

The president (Kennedy) finally decided that only a bold domestic program, including tax cuts, would restore his political momentum. Declaring that the absence of recession is not tantamount to economic growth, the president proposed in 1963 to cut income taxes from a range of 20-91% to 14-65% He also proposed a cut in the corporate tax rate from 52% to 47%. Ironically, economic growth expanded in 1963, and Republicans and conservative Democrats in Congress insisted that reducing taxes without corresponding spending cuts was unacceptable. Kennedy disagreed, arguing that "a rising tide lifts all boats" and that strong economic growth would not continue without lower taxes.

There's a difference between a president doing something to "restore his political momentum" and doing something that would help the country in the long term.

Reaganomics works a little bit for a little while, but eventually the bills come due, and then everyone blames obama.

Yes - but Headlines at DNC oriented and liberal sites like Raw Story and HP are as skewed from honesty and facts as they can be too. This is a game played by political operative elites to keep us all divided and suspicious of government. Divide and conquer, and screwing average Americans and pitting them against each other is their strategy.

#42 | Posted by Robson at 2014-08-14 09:12 PM | Reply | Flag:

The political elite operatives and media have a goal to divide us. How far do they want to take Americans? Is it to complete anarchy or just to keep us at each others throats? All the while the media reaps rewards of political advertising.
