Sen. John Walsh (D) of Montana dropped his election campaign Thursday amid allegations he plagiarized large portions of a 2007 research project, leaving fellow Democrats to scramble for a replacement with the election less than three months away. Nationally, the development only improves the odds for Republicans, who need a net gain of six seats in November to take Senate control.

Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.

I just made that up.

Dropping out was a stupid move considering the difficult time he's gonna have getting hired in the private sector.

But an admitted Republican adulterer and abortionist wins in Georgia? After Vitter, what this guy did was lame.

But he showed ethics (even just eventual ethics) unlike naughty Republicans do.

Marital-sexual transgressions ended John Edwards, Eliot Spitzer and Anthony Weiner's political careers. Then there are the "family values" folks from the GOP Like Marc Sanford who used taxpayer funds to fly to Brazil to visit his paramour or David Vitter who illegaly hired prostitutes, both men were re-elected by the right-wing-lemmings

Maybe he was hoping to be appointed as Vice President of a future Socialist, Progressive Democrat's incompetent Administration.

Perhaps he thought that such a commonly found liberal characteristic conformed consistent with the philosophical standards of "Socialist Progressivism". After all, both of those political philosophies, codify and embrace the practice of plagiarism.

Morally and legally, plagiarism is a blatant act of "theft". Theft by a Government that takes the fruits of one man's labor, in deed steals that man's production and gives it for the use and benefit of a another man deemed by the thieving Government to be more deserving then those whom, from their labors create production!

Your Fellow Countryman,

Maybe John Walsh is just sick and tired of being sick and tired of what we laughingly call American democracy. Looking back at how this country has politically disintegrated over the decades, D.C. is no place to earn an honest living. A person has to have the hide of a rhinoceros and the moral aptitude of a serial killer to survive in D.C.'s toxic waste dump called Congress. It's all about having enough money to protect your own turf while laying waste to your opponent.

Yet, the shame is not on them. They're just filling a vacuum. The onus is on us, the lazy and gullible voters who are the enablers. God forbid that there'd ever be an uprising demanding a clean sweep of the chronic troublemakers. For some strange reason we just don't have that kind of courage any more.

It's a shame isn't it?

Because of us, the enablers, America has become a country that's at war with itself. We divide ourself into untenable positions of 100% right and 100% wrong and expect that a house so divided will somehow defy gravity ~ all in spite of evidence to the contrary.

Maybe we don't have the right to call this country the United States. We're certainly anything but united for the overall good of the place we claim to love.
