Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The Times of Israel newspaper has removed a blog post by one of its writers that advocated genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. In the post titled "When Genocide is Permissible," Yochanan Gordon wrote about Gazans that "falsehood and deceit is part of the very fabric of who they are and that will never change" and concluded, "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu clearly stated at the outset of this incursion that his objective is to restore a sustainable quiet for the citizens of Israel. We have already established that it is the responsibility of every government to ensure the safety and security of its people. If political leaders and military experts determine that the only way to achieve its goal of sustaining quiet is through genocide is it then permissible to achieve those responsible goals?" An archive of the post is online.

Now THAT'S irony.

He concluded:

"If political leaders and military experts determine that the only way to achieve its goal of sustaining quiet is through genocide is it then permissible to achieve those responsible goals?"

The Times of Israel quickly deleted the post, but as Noah Smyth pointed out, the original headline remains in the URL.

Frankly, this sounds quite a bit like several posters on this blog as the debate over Gaza rages on.

It says something about our increasing detachment to our humanity that these types of arguments are given equal weight by civilized people. Those of warn of us the decline of our civilization might not be far off. Power can and will justify anything it deems necessary for it's own ends.

They fired him for publicly discussing Israel's intention of killing all Palestinians in Gaza.

Some of us already see it unfolding.

Hopefully more people will as well.

Israel = Nazi Germany and their US political puppets in DC are forcing every American to subsidize them as a special faction, while our own country goes up in flames or down as infrastructure rubble or in bankruptcy.

This is about corruption at the heart and soul of America thanks to the entangling alliances that our founding father warned us about. Money buys sex, crooked politicians, and injustice.

As a decade long Huffington poster who ended that relationship when they decided to support an oligarch like Suckerberg and FB first, instead of the right of Americans to state and hold private political views.

I've discovered that liberal oligarchs are just as greedy and self serving or more so than conservatives. They both want to control the message and support their own version of the pied pipers. Forget your political allegiance and instead understand that politicians are inherently corrupt, whether in Israel or USA, and they will commit genocide if it gains them power just as did Hitler.

Actually the only time I read it is when I get a search hit on something of interest. There is a broad element of society that has grown to enjoy questioning and expanding upon what the media scribes are paid to foist upon us.

If we can't easily and anonymously do that, we don't waste our time reading the site. I once enjoyed the dialogue at HP (but despised the moderation) until it was clear that headlines and content were propaganda not information. HP represents a more fabricated and manipulated media than major networks like Fox.

Our IP addresses are obviously known to site owners. Those IP addresses are essentially our phone numbers. Therefore our names and addresses are probably known to many in the community. Facebook makes our names and political views public to those who access our account. TOR is a work around, but I don't bother because nothing I say will affect my career or ambitions. Those that that are susceptible need to be cautious.

Disgusting that anyone would think such things. I am personally even more offended that such rhetoric comes from a fellow Jew who obviously has learned NOTHING from our over 5000 year history.

The only truth being presented here is the common historical tribal psychopathy that has characterized the human race since cave times.

Murder is non state sponsored killing.

Kill against your tribe = terrorist/murderer/decreased social status.

Kill for your tribe = soldier/hero/patriot/increased social status.

Genocide may be as human as art, but don't try to tell me that its freedom/democracy/hope/
thousand points of light/etc.

What really sickens me as a Jew in light of this train of thought is the fact that many members of my family were murdered thanks to this very justification. Hitler just wanted a little more breathing room. Look up the Voyage of the Damned to see it wasn't just Germany, but the entire world felt it had "filled their Jew quota."

Jews, especially those in Israel should never think in such terms given our history and should more than sympathize with a group of people that nobody in the world seems to want.

The Palestinians have been kicked out of Jordan and Egypt. No other Arab nation is willing to take them in. It is the Voyage of the Damned all over again in many respects. Israelis should understand.

It's funny how you people are condemning what was said, but when Palestine's people say it, no repeatedly and put it in their constitution that Israel should be destroyed, not a peep.

Careful DR (RCADE), your bias is showing..

Not efficiently enough to "catch" a smart criminal. Traced and traced in time are two totally different things. There's a reason criminals are as successful online as they are. The NSA has NOT caught up to them.

It breaks my heart to think of all the conflict in the world today. Everywhere you look, people are squabbling over this or that, with little if any meaningful understanding ever taking place between them. It's a shame, and I can't help but feel like most of these problems could be resolved if people would step back and realize that, at the end of the day, we're really not all that different, you and me and Eagles lead guitarist Joe Walsh.

The truth is, every single one of us is cut from the same basic cloth, from the richest tycoon to the poorest beggar to the man who strapped on his Gibson and laid down the grinding, down-and-dirty slide part that made "Rocky Mountain Way" the blues-rock anthem it is today. It's as simple as that.

And ultimately, no matter what our circumstances in life, we must all find ways to give something back to this world, whether it's sharing what we have with others, lending counsel to a friend in need, contributing to that breezy Southern California sound that encapsulated the easy living and good times of the late '70s, or simple acts of everyday kindness.

If we can make that happen, I believe that someday, we will all come together in love and harmony. Perhaps, on that day, it will be said that life's been good to all of us: you, me, Bernie Leadon, Joe Walsh -- everybody.

So let us focus on that which unites us. Not just as men or women or frequent collaborators with Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band or atheists or believers or composers of "Funk #49," but as people. Let us look past our flaws -- our decades-long struggles with cocaine and alcohol addiction, our lackluster solo output over the past 30 years, our series of abrupt divorces -- to the basic humanity within each of us. If we do, I have faith we will emerge as better people for it, happier, wiser, and sharing a common peace.

Except for that gutless snake Don Felder. (theonion)

CNN won't even say the word Hamas. They just described them as "the militant group that runs Gaza". Libs have a serious problem with the truth.
