Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, August 01, 2014

David Weigel, Slate: Every time she's asked, Sen. Elizabeth Warren gives the same frustrated answer. No. Nope. She is not running for president. She has literally rolled her eyes at the question. She's offered to "add an exclamation point." She's even signed a letter calling on Hillary Clinton, who leads polls of Democrats by up to 50 points, to run for president. ... The evidence for a left-wing challenge to Clinton that could defeat her is thin to nonexistent. Defeating Clinton wasn't even a theme at Netroots Nation.

"The game is rigged," said Warren toward the end of her remarks. "We can whine about it, we can whimper about it, or we can fight back. I'm ready to fight back. Are you ready to fight back on this?"

Up went the signs, up went the chant: "Run, Liz, Run."

"Si'down," Warren chuckled. "Si'down."

That's what I like about her and why I hope she does run and does keep her issues at the forefront.

She isn't off whining and whimpering about her choices of who to vote for to be President, or voting for some third party that could split the Dem vote and put a Klown Kar Kandidate in office, she is out promoting progressive Democrat policy and progressive Democrats .... as will Mrs. Clinton, if she runs, as the article notes.

Or maybe they are making up names for her because she's funny. Whiter than I am and pretending to be a body double for the Red Man chewing tobacco guy. Teaching one class and getting paid north of 400 grand while pretending to be an economic populist.

But the lobbies are excited. Now that they've checked the black box in 2008, they're looking for someone in a pantsuit this time.

Run Liz! You're a woman! It's your turn!

So the game is rigged, you want to fight back, but you throw your support behind clinton, who is going around getting paid fat "speaking fee" checks by the same bankers who are rigging the game?

Unfortunately, we need somebody that has actually managed something large........

A governor, CEO of a large corporation....

I know I know, but we need someone with experience in dealing with managing, negotiating, inside and outside a large organization.

Electing an ideologue, just because he/she gives good extreme speeches doesn't qualify one to run this government, that goes for left and the right.

The government needs to be reigned in from the NSA to the VA, to the IRS. It won't happen if we have some ideologue trying to get his or her agenda rammed through the system.

See? Obviously she's not pure enough for the "real" left.

The real killer is not endorsing Hillary, however, it's that she's not a Free Pot! advocate.

But hey, the people who adored Obama in the 2008 primary and told us all what a True Left Firebrand he really was.... turned their backs on him before his first term was out when they didn't get 100 percent of what they wanted.

So, why, I axe you, should Warren or anyone else want to be the candidate of such a fickle bunch of crybabies?

And why should any voter trust their choice again?

When we read back then how Obama had won his Harvard post then got rid of a liberal supporter on the Board in favor of a conservative one so he would be seen as a conciliator rather than a partisan, it was pretty obvious to some of us how he would govern.

Which is why some of us didn't wet ourselves with shocked awe and horror when he compromised on health care and energy and even on liberty v security issues.

You don't need a Drama Queen to tell you which way the wind blows.

I don't have one. None have been properly vetted and it does not matter because in the end it is still the lesser of two evils. Nor does my vote go to a party if no suitable candidate is presented. But that does not detract for the fact that Warren would be one of the worst possible choices to ever come across on a ticket.

Larry, you are in a solid Red state, I believe, and our resident Valley Girl is in a solid blue state... so how ya'll vote is not going to determine the election, whether you vote for Mickey or yourself.

However, in swing states like FL or OH or many others, either of those votes could help put a Klown Kar Kandidate in office.

Which, despite the current moronic meme about the parties being the same, is probably not something for which you want to be responsible.

Though I understand it is all meaningless to Valley Girls.

I turned my back on obama when right after the election he announced he was keeping the same treasury secretary who helped create the financial crisis under bush. That singular act revealed obama either didn't understand or didn't care about the most crucial aspect of CHANGE that we needed - TO STOP LETTING WALL STREET RUN THE GOVERNMENT.

The country was finally ready for wall street justice, and he delivered NONE, filling his inner circle with all the typical wall street whores.

#55 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2014-08-01 06:25 PM | Reply | Flag:

I turned my back on Obama during Gibb's "professional left" speech where he pretty much crapped on the base. The first moment that it became apparent the only "change" we were getting was from "hope" to "business as usual." The rest of Obama's presidency has merely verified that impression.

And Mackris, Republicans shouldn't push the CEO/governor issue. They don't know how. First, Dubya. Then, they had options other than the clearly out-of-touch Romney, such as the just-as-qualified two-time governor of New Mexico, Gary Johnson. Who for being an actual small government conservative instead of a military pork puppet and DEA stooge, was basically laughed off their stage. And he worked his way to governor, not was spoon fed it with daddy's money.

Want a CEO to run for president? I recommend calling Costco and seeing if they can spare theirs.

- Gibb's "professional left" speech where he pretty much crapped on the base.

Gibb's was returning crap to the journalists.

"I hear these people saying he's like George Bush. Those people ought to be drug tested," Gibbs said. "I mean, it's crazy." The press secretary dismissed the "professional left" in terms very similar to those used by their opponents on the ideological right, saying, "They will be satisfied when we have Canadian healthcare and we've eliminated the Pentagon. That's not reality."

And it ain't the current reality.
