CIA Director John Brennan apologized to leaders of the Senate intelligence committee after an investigation found his agency inappropriately searched congressional computers. The Central Intelligence Agency's inspector general concluded that agency personnel searched the computers "in a manner inconsistent" with an agreement with the committee, CIA spokesman Dean Boyd said today in an e-mailed statement.

"Of course, as you may recall after Feinstein angrily denounced the CIA's actions, and explained them in detail, CIA director John Brennan angrily denied it -- though as we noted, his angry denial really confirmed nearly all of the pertinent details. Still, he specifically stated: "When the facts come out on this, I think a lot of people who are claiming that there has been this tremendous sort of spying and monitoring and hacking will be proved wrong."

He also told reporters:

"Let me assure you the CIA was in no way spying on [the Senate Intelligence Committee] or the Senate."

I can think of no other Americans more deserving of extra scrutiny than those in congress.

I am not angry nor do I denounce.
I say put the microscope on their every action.

I wouldn't necessarily disagree with you there Chief. Only in this case the CIA was trying to find out what the Senate knew about Torture Inc....maybe for spin or damage control. maybe for more.

The point is they're out of control and have been for some time.

Apology not accepted.

John Brennan should be fired for lying to Congress. Period. He is the head of one of the most powerful agencies on the planet and he lied in an open session of Congress about a very serious offense.

He is no longer trustworthy.

What ever happened to accountability?

Can someone explain why certain people at the CIA aren't being charged with espionage or treason? Seems like this is a remarkably serious crime to me, roughly on par with Watergate.

Why isn't he being charged, prosecuted and fired? He admitted wrong. Crooked bureaucrats are many times worse than average citizens who might shop lift from Walmart because they end up destroying the fabric of America.

#4 Moses......You are spot on and the surveillance and cameras should be on those in Congress and on the bureaucrats.....but the watchers should be the citizens, not the bureaucratic elite.
