A recently demoted executive at the Chicago food services tech company ArrowStream shot the company's CEO twice and then shot and killed himself on Thursday morning. Police have not named the 59-year-old shooter or the 52-year-old executive, who is hospitalized in critical condition with wounds to the head and stomach. "Apparently he was despondent over the fact that he got demoted," Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said.

It was in Chicago, so it's impossible the crime was committed with a gun since the gun laws in Chicago are the nation's toughest.

Only plebs need to worry about that.

This guy is an exec who is buddies with the CEO. The article mentions downsizing so maybe they just weren't going to remain big enough that his role was needed. The other alternative is that he was so bad at his job that a normal person would be fired but they just moved him instead since he's a bigshot.

Should have been in North Carolina, where gun ownership prevents bad things happening. As our resident gun expert used to say, an armed society is a polite society.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – An angry husband sprayed his father-in-law's house with bullets from two 30-round magazines, killing two people, after his wife ran to the home during an argument Wednesday.

The man later exchanged gunfire with authorities and died of a gunshot wound after hitting several deputies and a state trooper, Cumberland County Sheriff Earl "Moose" Butler said.

"He just went wild," Butler said of the shooter. "I mean, shooting at random. He just turned it loose, that automatic.

or Idaho....these kids will never be in the exec suite

CHUBBUCK, Idaho (AP) -- A 5-year-old girl is dead after police say another 5-year-old accidentally shot her at an eastern Idaho home.

Lt. Bill Guiberson of the Chubbuck Police Department says emergency workers responded to a Chubbuck home at about 3 p.m. Wednesday and took the victim to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. The hospital confirmed later in the evening the girl had died.

In a statement Thursday, police said adults were in the home at the time of the shooting but were in a different room.

It's unclear whether the victim lived at the residence; the statement said only that she was there "visiting with friends" when the shooting happened. Police didn't return a call Thursday from The Associated Press.

Investigators have not released the type of gun involved or said how the children got access to it.

No names or other details have been released, and police continue to investigate.
