A suspected sex offender recently featured on CNN's The Hunt with John Walsh died in a shootout with officers in New York Monday. A New York police detective and two U.S. marshals were attempting to arrest Charles Mozdir on child molestation charges when the gunfight broke out, police said. Mozdir "fired on officers at a very close range," New York Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said, and "officers returned fire."

The shooting occurred at a Greenwich Village smoke shop where the suspect worked, Bratton said. Mozdir was suspected of abusing the young son of two close friends in 2012.

Walsh said, "He was on the run for almost two years. And this family was destroyed, terrified that he would come back and hurt them because they had the courage to come forward and file charges against him, and now they don't have to worry if this guy's coming back to hurt the family or hurt their little boy. And they get justice."

Was he drunk, unshaven and shirtless, like typical perps on 'Cops'? Having TV show subjects get shot after a broadcast is an interesting merger of reality TV and the Constitution...

I can't state absolutely why, but I've become skeptical of a media of questionable honesty that can point fingers and get Americans arrested only because they can and make tons of money in the process.

I tend to trust the media to do only the most opportunist thing, not the most righteous thing. Tell me why we should blindly trust the media to actually expose evil.
