Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, July 15, 2014

A Washington man driving his estranged wife allegedly ran over her new boyfriend with his 1996 Fort Explorer after smoking meth. Police in Longview say Thomas Nolan told his wife "I have to run somebody over" and intentionally ran over Nickolas Peterson earlier this month after spotting him alongside the road. "He's not usually like this," said his wife, Lisa Nolan.

#1 If she had jumped out to help her boyfriend and he'd run over her, too, THEN it would be a feel good story.

Just kidding. I can't imagine that a meth-head is much of a catch. At least HE had a car.

This patriotic young man was giving his wife a ride from jury duty. to her workplace (not the welfare office) Before this very unfortunate accident. $100,000 bail is ridicules. IMHO

She got a ride from her husband while openly cheating on him?

She's almost as dumb as the meth head.

It surprises me that people get involved with somebody who is still married to somebody else. It seems like a recipe for trouble, given how many marriages end with insane amounts of bad blood between the couple.

The mother of a friend of mine from high school was shot dead by the ex of the man she'd just married. She got a knock on her door, opened it and boom.

Not to mention that the new boyfriend had been a long time friend of the couple. What a guy!

If he'd done that and then driven of a cliff, it would have been the perfect storm.

I'm guessing meth did nothing but lower some inhibitions here. Woman thinks she's entitled to a ride from the husband while driving past the boyfriend?!? The husband was too nice for acquiescing in the first place, first normal thought here was running over the bf. Should have left it just a thought though. Cocaine is not the only drug that's a hell of a drug.

I feel like it may not be the norm, they just make better news stories. Though to be fair, if a marriage is falling apart, there is probably a reason behind it.

If organizations like Media Matters, etc were actually doing their job they would have pie graphs that would represent and rate the quality air time content of all cable and network news networks.

They could rate each minute used as informative, objective, in the public interest, intended to incite or be political, or plain ordinary trash (POT) and of course the never ending commercials. Also they need to rate the ethnic representation or religious heritage and politics of those serving as the media mouthpieces.

The American public needs to see what the news media actually feeds us and by whom.
