Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, July 13, 2014

About a dozen local Palestinians gathered Wednesday evening at the Fun Time Beach cafe, a Gaza Strip beachside eatery of plastic chairs, umbrellas, walls of cloth and palm leaves, a container for a kitchen and a small bathroom, to watch the World Cup match between Argentina and the Netherlands. What they were not watching for was an Israeli missile, apparently targeting what Israel's military later described as a single terrorist. The blast destroyed the cafe and killed at least eight people. The cafe was one of more than 750 locations that the Israeli military struck in the first 48 hours of its aerial blitz in Gaza that began in the early hours of Tuesday morning, with the stated goal of halting the rocket attacks from Gaza against Israeli towns and cities.

You won't hear this news on the Z dominated US media such as Meet The Press or Face the Nation. Did you happen to see the Israel Ambassador to the USA on FTN today have his air-raid siren app go off in real time on his I-phone while being questioned and in queue?

I heard him repeat and orchestrate the exact same thing on Hannity. Israel has become a virtual Edward Bernays expert on orchestrating the American sheep to die, to pay, and to jump over the cliff for their Israeli oligarch handlers. The only way you get invited to the racist USA MSM talk shows is to show Z bonafides so that you won't be tempted to step on the toes of Israel.

We Americans have stupidly allowed our USA to be turned into a puppet for the benefit (financial and military) of Israel and its wealthy NYC shills.

Not sure why liberals would be upset with this...

Obama has been doing it with drones for years now.

Not all Liberals support Obama's every actions. In fact we condemn his illegal actions. Unlike Dubya's supporters who made every justification under the sun for his illegal actions.

Collective punishment was a big thing with the Gestapo and SS. Seems the Israelis did learn some history.

Obama has been doing it with drones for years now.

Let's not forget Bush was killing Americans with drones before Obama. And let's not forget the thousands of Iraqi women and children "Shock and Awed" in 2003. And I'm pretty sure Obama hasn't got around to targeting bars yet. For the Israelis, blowing up people relaxing is old hat. That's how they created their country. Whoever fired that missile is now officially eligible to be Israel's PM. Right, Irgun?

It's almost as if you read the words but don't comprehend what they mean.

I don't remember Larry's take on the topic, but I'm pretty sure I remember the drone threads on here quite correctly in that the only real supporters were Corky, Danni and zed. [...]

Otherwise there was pretty widespread disgust and disillusion with Obama on the topic.

Here's my official take on the use of drones to kill people. I believe it should be outlawed across the board and a violation of the Geneva Conventions. It makes war way too easy. War is supposed to be hard to do and harder still to perform. America USED to declare that those that fought us cowards when an enemy hid behind women and children. That is precisely what You have with drone wars. Hiding behind the American populace when you can kill people in the safety and comfort of some building here in America. To me drones are the cowards tools of choice.

Its so funny to hear people justify Obama because Bush set the precedent. Whatever helps you sleep at night!

What's funnier still is the ones who supported it under Dubya are complaining NOW ONLY because Obama is doing it. That's "hilarious".

That's not funnier; it is the same, just the inverse.

#12 Good point, Larry
But war is about winning, not fighting bravely. That's one of the reasons why Sherman said war is hell.
I agree that it seems to make war too easy. I don't agree that it's as cowardly as hiding behind women and children.

You don't hear any "noise" about the troops Obama just sent into Iraq.

It's an old story...a rocket crosses the Gaza-Israel border and indiscriminantly strikes a cafe, killing innocent civilians..

Wait...you mean Hamas didn't fire the rocket? OH WELL THEN, now it's news!

"The one's who give credence to the term "Obamabot"."

I guess you'd prefer to send troops into places like Yemen where real, honest to goodness terrorists plan attacks on Americans. You go first.

How many missile launchers were on the roof of that pub. Any reason why they did not get out when warned in advance of the attack by the Israeli military?

According to the article, the Israeli military was not targeting missile launchers and did not give any warning.

The article also states they were targeting a wanted terrorist and they don't give warnings under those circumstances.

Just saying.

Aiming rockets at civilians viewing the World Cup is no different than sending rockets at a church during mass. IMO.

#25 | Posted by moder8 at 2014-07-15 11:57 AM | Reply | Flag:

It is despicable to target one "terrorist" and take out innocents as "collateral damage", such as this cafe strike. Yet, Hamas is shooting rockets into Israel that are not aimed at combatants, but any Israeili they can hit/kill. Both sides are idiots. Yet, the US is doing the same with drones. The Geneva Conventions aren't worth the paper they're printed on...
