Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, July 12, 2014

The percentage of Americans without health insurance fell 2.2 percentage points after the rush to meet the April deadline for enrollment in health plans mandated under the Affordable Care Act, according to a new Gallup survey. The percentage of Americans who have insurance under Medicaid also increased after the ACA's expansion of Medicaid. Although the most common provider of insurance is a current or former employer, there are now more Americans with self-funded insurance.

More American would have been insured had GOP Govs extended Medicaid, but then, these non-one percenters are getting a mite uppity anyways.

Good news, but still leaves 28-29 million not covered. Not sure when you consider the cost, that you can consider this a success. And I wonder if it is still a moral imperative for Obama to cover these people. And would he have been able to sell the bill if he said he would only cover some of the insured?

Let's suspend reality and trust the administration's gamed statistics (lies), the ACA created a lot of disruption and turmoil for that lousy 2.2 percent.

Cost no matter, only coverage.....

Figuring that its pretty much against the law not to have coverage, is this number really interesting? The number I would look at is healthcare costs as a percentage of GDP.

IMO Obamacare will inflate the cost per capita, hardly the goal.

In Massachusetts 98% of folks have health insurance, (no other state comes close to that number) under RomneyCare which was the blueprint for ObamaCare.

once again as in unemployment figures,...dems use language or lack of words to sway polling and uninformed people.

it's simple word and to quote the VP it's a FOUR letter word.....

NET...........
aha ha ha...get it....

because one of the 36 times this president unilaterally and unconstitutionally and thus illegally CHANGED a law of the land...by postponing the employer mandate until after next november.....there are MILLIONS AND MILLIONS Of people who have not been affected yet.....but when that happens, the word NET must be used or the conclusion is the same as the unemployment figures......bogus, lies, incomplete, thought speech and cat nip for the stupid and ignorant of who libs here and in dc feast upon.

in other words, there will be millions of people like me who will have our health plan TAKEN AWAY even though this liar said it would not happen....that new one that will COST ME MORE will be counted on this total, if dems IN DC are their usual despicable lying worthless selves they are now..

Not sure when you consider the cost, that you can consider this a success.

Federal cost projections for ObamaCare keep going down:

www.cbo.gov

The projected net cost for 2014 is $36 billion.

To put that in perspective, the defense budget in 2010 was $683.7 billion.

jan 1...this whole brainwash is going to change.....

unless of course he trashes the constitution again and delays the employer mandate again...but I doubt he does that...by then he'll have signed these thousands of children and others into workers and when all those business lay off americans, they'll have plenty of people to hire .....at whatever wage the emperor chooses.....

not long after that well over 50 % will be on govt assistance...and that's the goal....guaranteed democrat majority.....

afkunable,

...mandate delay has nothing to do with the Constitution. No President in my lifetime has deported more illegal workers than Obama. You need an education. Too bad it isn't free any more.

The best the clowns can do is prognostications... something they suck at. Two examples are the WMDs and the whereabouts of bin Laden... make that three... Thinking Bush was competent.

In the last 40 years all your presidents stunk. We have the records to prove it.

I couldn't find it in the article where "ever" was defined. All the Gallup poll that was referenced for this claim was assert that the previous low was in 2008 right before the economy tanked, unemployment spiked.....along with the uninsured rate.

The uninsured rate has now fallen to below the figure in 2008.

not exactly "ever".

The previous low point was 14.4% in the third quarter of 2008.
