Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, June 27, 2014

His protege Rebekah Brooks may have been spared, but Rupert Murdoch faces a police grilling Thursday, more possible charges against News Corp from Scotland Yard, and a looming Senate probe. The FBI has copies of at least 80,000 emails taken from the servers at News Corp in New York. These messages, including those sent up the chain of command by Brooks, were not part of the mass deletion that was ordered in London when it became clear that police officers were soon going to be searching for evidence of a vast criminal conspiracy.

"The FBI has copies of at least 80,000 emails"

Not for long.

But none from the IRS.

I've seen the emails. Most were written using all capitalized letters, lots of exclamation points, the phase 'Republican sources', and many were written in crayon, on the monitors of the writers...

This isn't going to get any better for Murdoch. News Corp has spent decades thumbing their nose at the establishment. When first Scotland Yard and now the F.B.I. are piling up against them, the title wave of litigation is going to drain them. Someone big wants to break them up. It makes me think that maybe Megyn Kelly and Neil Cavuto's recent attacks on Republicans might be a signal to call the dogs off of Democrats. Murdoch recently said he'd have no problem with Hillary being president. Roger Ailes is a lot of things, but stupid isn't one of them.

I agree, Lee. Roger has no principles, other than love of money. He has used slow-witted "conservatives" who are drawn to his media to pad his bank account, only. He would be just as happy to milk the left, but of course it wouldn't be as easy to do.

Of course not, everyone knows lefties are the poor wellfare recipients in the 47% pool. No money to milk there. :-)

Anti-surveillance groups flew over the NSA's massive Utah data center in a blimp on Friday in a dramatic protest against government surveillance.

Greenpeace, the digital rights group Electronic Frontier Foundation and the conservative Tenth Amendment Center sent up a message on a thermal airship for a flying protest above the agency's $2 billion data center, which critics charge could be used to store nearly limitless amounts of Americans' private information.

"NSA illegal spying below," read a message on the blimp, with an arrow pointing straight down to the Bluffdale, Utah center.
