South Korea has launched a manhunt for a soldier who shot dead five of his comrades and fled his post near the border with North Korea. The sergeant, identified only by his surname Im, threw a grenade and opened fire on his colleagues on Saturday at Goseong. Im shot fellow members of his 22nd infantry division in the remote guard post and then escaped with his semi-automatic K2 rifle and some ammunition, army officials said.

The term "Sergent" is a misnomer. All Korean males are conscripted for two years of active duty, The last six months they are in they are all the fourth rank "Sergent", (promotions are automatic) or "baby Sergent" as the career soldiers refer to them. I think some will go nuts no matter the situation, and for those who have witnessed the ROK army first hand, it is anything but easy.
