Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, June 14, 2014

Mitt Romney has repeatedly said it's time for someone else to carry the Republican Party's presidential banner, and he insists that he's not running again in 2016. But in a Friday speech for donors and supporters at a luxury mountain resort, the 2012 GOP loser sounded a lot like a candidate, declaring: "I and we will continue to fight." "It's the failing of the White House leadership that concerns me, and that's got to change. I lost the election, we lost an election, but I and we will continue to fight," Romney declared.

Yeah.. doh.. of course. He would like to help someone get in office that actually knows what they are doing. Obama is a disaster.

I promise to succeed in my mission to make sure Obama does not gain the Office of the President of the United States again.

Him and Rafalca?

I thought they would have made up by now.

Give Romney some credit. It is so boring sitting around collecting dividend checks. He has to do something to stay busy and out of Ann's hair.

Some qualified Republican who's willing to lose."...

From "Politics and Poker" a song from the Broadway play "Fiorello".

""And so I said, 'look, if I had the chance to be president, I would ask myself what is it that has led America to become the most powerful nation…what is it that's led America to lead the world?"

I wonder if he would say it is millionaires and billionaires avoiding taxes, going to France instead of serving in the military and closing companies and shipping the jobs overseas?

A man as in love with himself as Willard Romney only sees the stars in his own eyes.

I'll bet she does.

By "we" I think he means himself and Karl Rove.

It has to be so frustrating to Romney that he was right on so many things. Russia, Mali, Detroit, Benghazi, Obamacare, etc. He was met with ridicule by the press as they carried Obama's water. Now seeing Obama fail so horribly has to really burn, when he knows that he would have done a better job.

Sure. Maybe he'll get another chance to do that "better job" after he releases his finances and proves he's not a criminal.

Because, you know, there are millions of us who think he probably is.

Oh, yeah. He could stop lying about everything. He could also stop taking policy positions simply to please his last focus group.

If its all really not that much trouble.

Not so sure as so many see Hillary as just another obama lite, and it seems that the younger generation is now a bit jaded when it comes to believing libby promises. .

She's married to the most popular former President around, and given Obama's a$$-whipping of McCain, Palin,Romney and what's his name, being Obama-lite ain't such a bad thing.

Would you rather be a Bush-lite, war-losing, economy-killing, pretzel fighting failure?

And the 2016 GOP nominee will make Romney look like a pauper and Palin look like a genius.

#24 | Posted by northguy3 at 2014-06-15 12:52 AM | Reply | Flag:

I don't believe for a minute that Romney will throw his hat in the ring for a third time. Right now he's just using what little credibility he has to suck money out of some fat cats who believe they can buy a 'piece of the action' if a GOP (or some variation of) makes it as far as the Senate (or hopefully the Oval Office).

Chump change, so to speak, compared to Adelson's contribution ~ as soon as Mr. Adelson decides who HE wants to be the next GOP nominee.

Right now, the GOP prospects look about as good as they did when Obama sent them packing in 2008 and 2012.

Thumps down ~ on each and every one, so far.

Not defending Bush, but six years out and our economy still sucks and will get worse as electricity cost rise.

Losing a war - dude - have heard about Iraqi recently?

P.S. - the economic disaster of 2008 had lots of democrats fingerprints (clinton, frank, dodd); Bush had very little to so with it. but don't let that stop you from playing make believe partisan politics (that's working so well for our country) - moron

But Reagan had a lot to do with it and, as long as the current or any president is assigned responsibility for the economy....Well, George W. Bush was really a failure, wasn't he?

Dude.....Like, its still the same Iraq as it was in 2003. This always interests me. I imagine people like you were 14 in 2003 and it all seem slike such a very, very long time ago.

There should have been a draft, and you should have gone. You wouldn't be anything politically as you seem to be today.

...ignoring the usual blame it on Obama threads,
or the Obama hate threads, or the "OMG da black man
wants my 436 guns threads", I feel it is a sad
statement of the state of politics in America today,
when you have the only people who can run for POTUS
generally being very rich, very male, and in all but
one singular case ((twice if you count his re-election)
[Obama] of course), very white. Which sets up of
course, what I like to call the Perennial Politician;
you know, the politician that runs,
year after year after year after year.
All with little to no chance of getting nominated,
let alone elected. You know your Ron Pauls, you Mitt
Romneys, your Joe Bidens.

And so, America frequently has to chose (on both sides of
the political aisle) from the same old list of washed up
has-beens and not-interested-ins...a veritable who's who
of what is wrong with American politics....old sour goats,
washed up nobodies, and corporate "yes men", who's primary
interest seems to be able to list the job of POTUS in their
autobiography when they pen their memoirs that few, if any,
will read, instead of actually trying to help the nation out,
and move us forward...

...and we wonder why it's tough to get Americans out to
vote...
