Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Security guards at the Karachi airport were using their own version of a fake bomb detector made by a British con artist, the Western media reports. The fake detector, known as ADE 65, was made by a British con artist Jim McCormick, who earned more than 50 million pounds by selling his device to unsuspecting security agencies around the world.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!! The equivalent of dowsing for bombs. Rigel probably has one he uses to find his goat, 'cause she's "da bomb".

Be fair... they undoubtedly "improved" it.

Probably added a colander with a chin strap so they could use it as a lie detector, too.

LOL The dopes in Iraq bought about 6000 of these. Did they ever think of buying just ONE, taking it apart and copying it ? ?

at least they weren't duped into supporting a needless war against a country that never attacked them by the greatest con artists of them all-- american politicians...

I think the Iraqi electronics industry is more tuned to making real bombs than fake detectors.

That said, bomb detectors that were actually bombs would be interestingly ironic.

I'm frequently unsure if I should feel sorry for Pakistanis or laugh at them.

That guy pulled a fast one on a lot of military agencies.

On the fraud side, why isn't there supporting news of luggage/objects exploding AFTER being screened by these detectors? On the other hand, why isn't there news of bombs being FOUND by these detectors?

None of this makes any sense, unless there are no bombs out there at all.

I wish Rigel were still around so I could laugh at him.

Pffft. Pakistanis. lol

Wait a second. No thread is complete until Goatman shows up. Where is that sob anyway?

A funny flag? That was actually a serious question.

Ol' Tosseur gets hoofed a lot but he's not on the list.

You must have missed the May 20th Nooner when Rigel went off the rails and got himself banned.

He's also the reason why Rcade decided to start moderating the Nooner.

There are lots of free proxy servers he can use to weasel his way back in but he's such a loose cannon I think we'd probably spot him right away. I'd rat him out in a minute.

The point is, he has been.... Dealt with....... That is all you really need to know.

No need to be so cryptic. Everybody who was on the Nooner that day and the day preceding, knows what drove Rigel into his fit of anger. The only one who didn't know he was being herded into a blind canyon was Rigel himself. (Patron tried to rat us out but by then it was too late.)

Rigel's lack of self control was his own worst enemy. :) ~ :)

No need to be so cryptic.

Your opinion.... I thought it was entirely necessary.

"I thought it was entirely necessary."

Would you care to explain why?

It's no secret. Redial was just asking to be brought up to date.

I thought it was an amusing response (I also didn't see you had already given an explanation).

To be honest since the nooner disappeared I'd completely forgotten about it.

Riggle won't be hard to spot... all it will take is something bad to happen in India.
