GoDaddy, the web host and domain registrar company known for running crass and titillating ads during the Super Bowl, filed with U.S. regulators to raise up to $100 million in an IPO. GoDaddy, which had 12 million customers as of March 31, was acquired by a private equity consortium in 2011 for $2.25 billion. The company also announced Monday that founder Bob Parsons had resigned as executive chairman of the board. He will remain on the board of directors and owns 28 percent of the shares, making his IPO valuation $28 million.

GoDaddy is a pretty crappy company when it comes to customer support and competitive pricing.

But the real question is what does this bode for crass commercials starring scantily clad women?

I went with GoDaddy thinking it was a sweet deal. I go so tired of their web site bombarding me with pop-up when I was only trying to manage my site. Then they decided to do the auto update 6 weeks before it was due. They did refund my money but I knew I was done with them. I did not like doing business with them.
