One less jock strap for the equipment manager.

She will need 2 of them for a little higher on her body.

The HS where I work is a "receiving school": We are one of the area high schools that students can choose to attend if they come from a town without a high school (fairly common in northern New England). I know a sophomore girl who came here last year in order to play football on our team (we have a good rep). Many of the boys on the team were scared of her. (She's also a champion shot-putter, apparently.) She's an awesome kid in many ways.

Bring the pain, Shelby! Find someone with a loose chinstrap, knock off their hat and receivers will fear you for a long time...

Lawsuit waiting to happen.

Somebody is going to get loose in the backfield, run her over, and get called a misogynist for treating her the same way he would have treated a man.

Lose/lose for opponents and teammates.

She's 5'6", 140 lbs.

I applaud her gumption and her attitude, but hope she doesn't get hurt.

Right, because she hasn't already played well with her high school team. She's waiting until college to confirm your silly stereotype.

I hate to break it to you, smarms, but they are bigger, faster, and stronger in college than they are in some Podunk high school.
Lets not even get in to the fact that she hasn't made the team and that this is all about publicity. She's even hedging about never playing a down.

And spare me. Saying a woman is going to get run over in college football isn't a stereotype, its a fact. Claiming some will label them a misogynist for doing so isn't a "stereotype" either.

Run along or try harder next time.

I don't think she's going to get much play time. Probably be on the practice squad.

She looks kinda young, and small to be playing defense.

Still I was surprised to see how good looking she is and I'm curious to see how well she plays.

As long as this isn't some kind of marketing ploy; she deserves the spot based on performance, then go for it. Just don't complain when she has the same injuries as everyone else who spends their days smashing into each other.

Thank Allah there's a penalty for unnecessary manliness.

Sorry, but anyone willing to play football is signing themselves up for a lifetime of medical issues.... That is the way it goes.

So Hillary lost some weight and thinks she can play football too. The hubris of that woman is something to behold.
