Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Chris Hedges: There are some essential lessons we can learn from the student occupation of Beijing's Tiananmen Square, which took place 25 years ago. The 1989 protests began as a demonstration by university students to mourn the death of Hu Yaobang, the reformist Communist Party chief who had been forced out by Deng Xiaoping. The protests swiftly expanded to include demands for an end to corruption, for press freedom and for democracy. At their height, perhaps a million people were in the square. The protests were crushed on the night of June 3-4 when some 200,000 soldiers, backed by tanks and armored personnel carriers, attacked. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of unarmed demonstrators were killed.

How lacking in self awareness must one be in order to grandstand like this while remaining completely unaware of how ridiculous it looks to everyone else?

We've all seen this act before. Calling everyone else fascists and sheep over and over is not particularly original or interesting, let alone impressive.

If this poster is a child that makes it more understandable but if this an adult then he needs to grow up.

Hehe. Too bad they stopped making Matrix movies. I rather enjoyed when "The only guy who sees the world how it is" used tell others to "take the red pill".

While I don't agree with Hedges on everything when he's right his words are worth their weight in gold.

He hides behind his iron curtain of plonks, you forgot to mention that. If there was a part of the stats page that showed how many posters everyone had plonked, then I can almost guarantee that his name would be right at the top.

So, how would one go about measuring the weight of text on the internet? Would it be based on the wait of the storage device it was stored on?
