Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, June 02, 2014

At a new gun range in Oklahoma City, patrons can empty their weapons and drain their bar glass. The city council voted this week to give a liquor license to Wilshire Gun Range, a massive indoor shooting establishment under construction in the state capital. Owner Jeff Swanson promises that customers won’t be allowed to imbibe until they've finished target practice for the day. "Guns and alcohol will never mix at Wilshire Gun," Swanson told TV station KFOR. "We have an absolute zero-tolerance policy."

Shooting ranges are often frequented police.

Why the hell would you want to drink at cop central?

"...customers won't be allowed to imbibe until they've finished target practice for the day."

Can they still wave their guns around in the bar just so long as they are done with "target practice"?

Personally, I think it's a great idea.

Because guns and booze make so much sense together right? It's Oklahoma what do they have to do other than guns and street racing?

Having spent some time there, if I Flaunt the Usual Characterization Known then I will surely be moderated. So, I shan't but we enjoyed it.

"Tennessee is one of four states, along with Arizona, Georgia and Virginia, that recently enacted laws explicitly allowing loaded guns in bars. (Eighteen other states allow weapons in restaurants that serve alcohol.) "

Personally, I'd feel safer at a gun range where alcohol is only served after you're done shooting than in a bar with folks who are packing.

When ---- like this makes the news, you know there's an all out assault on guns and gun owners. You can bet the future holds every little article that the grabbers can dig up.
I predict that the 2nd Amendment will be gone before 2016.

The NICS background check has been in force for many years.. try another b.s. statement.

After Arizona passed the law allowing guns in bars there was a nightclub shoot-out in Tempe, luckily the aim of shooters was diminished by the booze, so none of the 14 victims died, though some will spend the rest of their lives in nursing homes, paid for by the AZ taxpayers
It's the perfect mix ..guns .. booze ..and drunken gun-nuts

You attempt to tie a gang related shooting as people lined up out side of a nite club to a law enacted over two years earlier permitting licensed CCW holders to carry concealed guns in a bar but not while drinking.

The NICS background check has been in force for many years..

Ever wonder why it isn't working yet?

Congress just got around to providing funding for it. It was only being funded at 5.3% of what was authorized until recently. Thanks to Rep. Mike Thompson (D-Calif.) (my local Congressman).

The amendment, which passed by a vote of 260 to 145, would provide an additional $19.5 million in funding for the National Instant Criminal Background Checks System (NICS). The funds would be appropriated toward grant money for states, in order to improve reporting to the national database, which is designed to keep guns out of the hands of individuals with felony convictions and certain mental health issues.

The Justice Department has long sought increased funding for the FBI-run database, but the measure is just a minor step in the uphill battle to enact stricter gun laws. Congress still has not passed legislation to require universal background checks, amid stiff opposition from the National Rifle Association.

Include Zed on that one.

Every time a thread is posted regarding the expansion of gun rights he claims it will result in more violence.

It doesn't matter that it's never come true, of course.

But what do you expect from a die hard bible humper? They have been claiming the same [...] for 2,000 years.
