President Barack Obama announced Friday that Jay Carney will step down as White House press secretary after more than three years and be replaced by his deputy Josh Earnest, who worked on the Obama campaign in 2008. Carney, 49, a former Time magazine White House correspondent, joined the administration in late 2008 as spokesman for Vice President-elect Joe Biden. "Jay has become one of my closest friends and is a great press secretary and a great adviser," Obama said. "He's got good judgement, he has good temperament and he's got a good heart. And I'm going to miss him a lot."

I'm sure they'll find another member of the "unbiased" White House Press Corps to take his place. Might I recommend Al Sharpton? That would be AWESOME.

Jay, wanna become an instant jillionaire overnight?

Write a memoir

I'm sure the contract he had prevents him from doing such a thing, but the stories this guy could tell about how dizzy he got from his spinning for his master would be incredible, I'm sure.

Is it true that Mitt! had promised the White House press secretary job to Sarah Palin?

#2 Two independent thoughts. Press Corps was one. The Right Reverend Al was another.

His replacement is Josh Earnest? Seriously? I don't think I could have come up with a better name than that for a White House press secretary. Maybe White Lies McTell. Fibber O'Rilley.

You're right, Snoofy. Has to be one of the toughest jobs in the country. I actually think Carney is pretty good at what he does.

Yea making crap up as you go along trying to cover your bosses rear end when X Y Z happens. Being a professional lier is not a hard gig.

He was simply a punching bag for his administration which sucks, but far from the hardest job in America. Even a lier burns out of excuses after while.

Jay Carney,

Former Conservative pundit on the McLaughlin Group. His appointment as press secretary to Obama says more about Obama policy than what actually comes out of Obama's mouth. The war on the middle class remains a top priority.

"The rats are jumping from the sinking ship."

Yep...all the wheels have fallen off at this point.I notice none of our little DR friends are discussing the West Point address, the new "war on coal" that will end up costing 200,000 jobs every year with higher rates, the latest foreign policy victories, and now we even have THIS:

"Four restaurants, including three McDonald's outlets, will close within the next three weeks on Navy installations, according to Navy Exchange Service Command officials.

And two other contractors -- a name-brand sandwich eatery and a name-brand pizza parlor -- have asked to be released from their Army and Air Force Exchange Service contracts to operate fast food restaurants at two other installations, according to AAFES officials.

A source with knowledge of military on-base resale operations said the issue likely has to do with two new government regulations -- one implemented, one pending -- that will affect wages for contract workers in such on-base concessions.

These closings "are the tip of the iceberg," the source said. "I don't think anybody has realized what the far-reaching effects of this will be...."

Martin said new Labor Department rules issued last fall for fast food workers on federal contracts under the Service Contract Act require an increase in the minimum wage for such employees, varying by region. The rules also require payment of new, additional "health and welfare" fringe benefits at a rate of $3.81 per hour to those employees."

Do they EVER realize "what the far-reaching effects" of ANY of their moves will be??? Nawwww, just shoot from the hip, that's all.

The critics of Carney cringe when I post two words: Scott McClellan. Let me know when Carney does a "Scott McClellan."
