Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, May 28, 2014

Curmudgeons of the world, listen up: This line of negative thinking might actually hurt your health. A new study in the latest edition of Neurology, the journal of the of the American Academy of Neurology, found that cynical people have a higher likelihood of developing dementia. "There have been previous studies that showed that people who were cynical were more likely to die earlier and have other poor health outcomes, but no one that we could tell ever looked at dementia," said Anna-Maija Tolppanen, one of the study's authors and a professor at the University of Eastern Finland. "We have seen some studies that show people who are more open and optimistic have a lower risk for dementia so we thought this was a good question to ask."

Essentially the idea that you should conform, or you are insane.

Same old propaganda that the American empire has been pumping out since ww1.

Stress on the other hand is well known to exacerbate all sorts of existing problems.

It ends up being a wash as negative people are so miserable, it actually feels like they're living longer.

...American empire...

This "American Empire" thing you keep puking just makes you sound ignorant. Look up what an empire is. America does not fit the description in spite of the fact ----- may see himself as an emperor. I'll help you.

em·pire noun ˈem-ˌpī(-ə)r
: a group of countries or regions that are controlled by one ruler or one goverment; especially : a group of countries ruled by an emperor or empress.

"... previous studies that showed that people who were cynical were more likely to die earlier and have other poor health outcomes, but no one that we could tell ever looked at dementia,"

Only the cool kids die young... and demented.

Having any kind of hope or optimism is so quaint and uncool.

I've often looked at people who are overly enthusiastic and smiling for no reason as demented.

I am an optimist. It does not seem too much use being anything else.
