Seven people, including a suspected gunman, died in drive-by shootings Friday night in Isla Vista, California, near the University of California-Santa Barbara. Seven others also were being treated in a hospital for gunshot wounds or traumatic injuries. "Witnesses described seeing a black BMW speeding through the streets, spraying bullets at people and various targets," KEYT reported. The suspected gunman was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

Did he have a big clip in his assault gun?

Huh, Criminals breaking the law and using violence to make people fear their gang. So glad we have those gun control laws on the book that stop these crimes, they must not know it is against the law.

Even if there was a ban on standard capacity magazines, criminals would never follow it much less obey it. They would have no issue getting the arms they want no matter what is banned, gun control does not effect them at all.

TFD,

The reason to go to college is to learn and study so you can be financially successful, self actualized, and express the gifts one has to help make the world a better place for everybody.

If one can do that, the sex is pretty much guaranteed.

PUAhate and the face length theory

I've recently been browsing the forum http://www.puahate.com. What a depressing place. If you're not aware, this is basically a forum form incels to wallow in their depression. They've come up with all kinds of elaborate theories about facial dimensions, bone growth and hormone levels to explain why women find them so unappealing. Some of them discuss these theories with a complexity level that rivals edenism. The basic theme is that if you have inherited certain cranial features, you are completely hopeless and there's nothing you can do to improve your position in life.

Please understand that these people are mentally ill, and while there may be some truth to their theories, they are mostly irrational and exaggerated. If you have a tendency to depression and OCD, I would suggest not visiting this site. Seriously. If I had found it during one of my depressive phases, it could very well have made me off myself.

The socially awkward have a hard time I know I was and I did.

Then I grew up a bit and learned that I liked being me and didn't give a rat's patootie what others thought. In a year I went from socially awkward to relaxed and comfortable around people. I also got a long term girlfriend, got laid for the first time and had a ton of fun.

I was still just a big a nerd as before but now I was fine with it. If I had instead stumbled upon something like PUAhate lord knows what would have happened. The last thing socially awkward people need is reinforcement that society is at fault for their awkwardness.

That video is chilling as hell.

Okay, every person alive has, at some point or another, had a stretch of social awkwardness. It's part of being human. While I empathise with such an issue, it is FAR from an excuse for someone, ESPECIALLY someone who has pretty much EVERYTHING going for them, to become a violent rectal chapeau and go on a rampage.

A comment from the link provided in #28:

[Picking up women is] actually pretty easy, if you know what you're doing.

You mean being outgoing, engaging, interesting, confident, polite, and genuinely interested in her beyond the services she can perform in bed? I know, and what's funny is that it works for all types of things... Making friends, building client relationships, meeting women, striking up conversations with strangers. Who knew?

This cultish capitalization of "chump" and "game" cracks me up though. You take basic interpersonal skills and give them an immature ulterior motive, slap some chauvinistic -------- about biological responses on it, make it sound like you can (or should) treat every woman in the bar like a ----- prop, and you've got a PUA handbook. It's not the pursuit of meaningless recreational sex that's so laughable... It's not even the ridiculous idea that every woman secretly wants to be manipulated as you pursue her for meaningless recreational sex. What's hilarious is that by branding it as a methodology, complete with Capitalized Words of Importance, you give desperate, lonely men the out that they truly seek: an explanation for their failure to achieve their goals.

Suddenly, now that you've got a guide, it's no longer a problem with YOU when you strike out. You don't have to internalize: it's a problem with the methodology (anti-PUA) or a problem with your application of the methodology (PUA). It's just a method to mask your own insecurity in dealing with women and, in turn, rival males who lack that insecurity. But that's cool, objectify women to feel better about yourselves... The rest of us guys at the bar are laughing at you either way.

Well put.

My guess is that he never spoke to women at all because he was so profoundly antisocial. When you look through his manifesto, it's clear he had a broken way of looking at the world. He talks about getting his car because he learned there was a pecking order of cars at college, so he got one that the richest students had thinking it would help him succeed.

I'm not excusing him at all, but human interaction was a puzzle he was not figuring out. It boggles my mind that he could have so many advantages -- wealthy family, a childhood he calls happy with a dad he loved and siblings he seemed to like, college studies, a nice car, nice clothes, youth, normal well-groomed appearance, beautiful place to live -- and end up choosing mass murder and an early death.

He had 400 rounds and banged on the door of a sorority house, but for some fortunate reason no one answered. He could've amassed a much larger death toll depending on how many people were there.

A general substitution of knives for guns would promote physical fitness. We'd turn into a whole nation of great runners. Plus, knives don't ricochet. And people are seldom killed while cleaning their knives.

I wonder if that saved lives.

Based on what little we know, it sounds like he was driving around shooting people. One might think the empty clip means it's time to drive on to the next group of unsuspecting victims, reloading along the way.

By the time the first clip is gone I assume his element of surprise went with it, making additional targets in the area more difficult to acquire.
