Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, May 19, 2014

An Arizona rancher and Republican congressional candidate said during a primary debate Saturday that the vast majority of mass shootings in the United States are committed by Democrats. "If you look at all the fiascos that have occurred, 99 percent of them have been by Democrats pulling their guns out and shooting people," Gary Kiehne, who is running for the state's 1st U.S. Congressional District, said during Saturday's GOP primary in Florence, Arizona. "So I don't think you have a problem with the Republicans." Kiehne didn't explain the source for his factually dubious claim.

Or used cell phones.

They probably sat down once or twice to take a dump too.

Wait wait, I got it. They require oxygen to live.

I guess you ALL do not remember who gets the blame from the press just a few minutes after the shootings happen, going all the way back to JFK.

Some folks will believe him and he knows it. Republicans are elected all over the country because stupid people believe the nonsense they are told by right wing talkers on the radio and on TV, the rest of the world looks at our country and wonders how we can collectively be so dumb.

LOL...conservatives are so stupid they STILL don't understand how we're reaching prosperity by taxing, borrowing and spending. "Progressives" are so smart they're keeping the process a secret from us. We also don't believe Guam is going to tip over and that's due to our stupidity too.....LOL

A stupid claim. But every time there is a mass shooting Democrats blame Republicans for it so he wasn't really being original either.

...and Jerry Brown blames the California wildfires on Republicans.

Politicians are morally bankrupt people in many, many instances. Party doesn't matter in this regard.

Must be nice to just pull out fake numbers and have your base believe them.

Like Allen West's "80 percent of congressional democrats are communists" crap.

Quick question: Do you think spending on tax cuts for billionaires who then hide their money overseas is as smart as spending on infrastructure that the nation desperately needs? That's the difference between repub deficit spending and dem deficit spending.

Some nut on psychoactive drugs flips out and tries to kill on a massive scale, sometimes succeeding, some things are sure to follow. 1. The shooting is the fault of the NRA, even if the firearm is obtained illegally or used by some one who is illegally holding that firearm and ofcourse used in a "gun free zone". 2.The shooter was a right winger/tea party/conservative, never been the case, ever. 3. Some conservative inspired the violence by their rhetoric. All the shooters I have read about in the last few years were true blue liberals as the truth leaks out or had no political orientation at all. It is beginning to look more and more desperate to use tragedy as an argument for the cause of gun control. We do not have a gun problem in this country. We DO have a drug problem,(especially prescription drugs), a mental health crisis, and a media that is agenda driven.

Kiehne apologizes

Arizona Congressional District 1 candidate Gary Kiehne issued an apology for the comment he made at a debate in Florence on Saturday.

"This past weekend, I made a comment about the political affiliation of perpetrators of gun violence in the heat of a debate. I've since learned that the information that I based the comment off of was inaccurate and incorrect.

"I've always believed that when you make a mistake, you should own up to it. Too many politicians today offer nothing but spin and excuses when they say something they shouldn't have. I'm not going to do that. Simply put, I shouldn't have made the comment, and I want to offer my apology for making it without any reservations."

I suspect he knew damn well that information wasn't accurate when he said it since he pulled those numbers out of his backside.

Dems had plenty of time to do that during the two years they controlled the house, senate, and executive branch. What did they do, nothing but wasted trillions on supposedly "shovel-ready" jobs. Such a short memory.

Harry Reid blamed global warming on the Kochs. Kiehne's assertion seems far more plausible.
