Minnesota is about to become the 22nd state to legalize medical marijuana after the state legislature and Gov. Mark Dayton, a Democrat, reached a compromise on how medical marijuana will work in the state. "This bill is citizen government at its best," Dayton said. "It has been led by parents, who deeply love their children, are anguished by their pain, and insist their government try to help them. As a father and grandfather, I both understand and admire their devotion."

Several states have already legalized medical marijuana, although the drug remains illegal for all purposes at the federal level. Maryland in 2014 became the 21st state to legalize medical marijuana, and Florida may follow soon.

Smoking or possessing the plant was not approved. Just oil, vapor and pill form. These is going to please very few people.

It will however be a threshold into many possibilities in healthcare. I applaud Minnesota for taking this step instead of caving to big pharma and the medical realm that would like to see mm stay illegal. Not to mention, now they can get studies underway to prove or disprove what the plant is really capable of providing. Not everyone just wants to get high.

True, but it's a good start to the day, no matter what you have to do.

In case you were not aware all drugs have side effects.

I, for one, am certainly not bothered by this particular side effect.

I rather enjoy it actually.

It certainly beats nonarteritic ischemic optic neuropathy. (a side effect of Viagra)

or

Frightening hallucinations as well as violent psychotic behavior. (a side effect of Lariam)

or

Night terrors and nightmares, sleepwalking, eating, making phone calls, having sex and driving all while asleep. (side effects of Lunesta)

Or (one of my favorites)

Sudden gas with oily discharge, an increased number of bowel movements, an urgent need to have them, and an inability to control them. (side effect of Xenical) Now sold over the counter.

Yes...I think I will keep my little high.

Thanks you.
