Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, May 14, 2014

Adam Weinstein, Gawker: The life of an ever-vigilant anti-government armed patriot is hard. And by hard, I mean dull and unproductive. Also, not very profitable. Maybe that's why all those guys hanging out cleaning their guns in Nevada are now begging hard-working Americans to please give them some money. "I am coming to you tonight humbly asking for your help," writes Christopher E. Ferrell in a solicitation for $100,000 he posted on GoFundMe. "We may be the front line soldiers facing down an overbearing govt bureaucracy, but we are first off family men and women that have our own homes and jobs and families left behind to take on this endeavor." Ferrell raised $170. The page is now offline.

The article says Ferrell has netted only $170 out of his $100,000 goal.

Come on, fellow patriots! Only 100 grand to save America!

A $150 contribution will get you a free camouflage cap.

C'mon "Patriots". The tree of liberty needs more than blood. Send this seditionist some money.

Of course, if you do, he's gonna sell your contact info to the ATV Posse,
so you will prolly need to send them $$$ to.

These patriots are keeping all of us free from government tyranny. They should not have to beg for cash. You would think that millionaires like the Koch Brothers, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Rupert Murdock would gladly open their wallets for these brave freedom fighters.

I can understand how a proggie whose party typical relies on their Hollywood entertainers would say this, but . . . really?

To whom?

And "prolly"? Really OWS?

The great camp out for liberty goes ---- up for lack of money.

What a shocker.

How bout welfare queen #1 Bundy give them some of the million in grazing fees he stole from the taxpayers?

yeah, Danny, i saw that massive legal defense fund in action just recently.

This is exactly how the well funded government is going to beat a bunch of poorly planned, no funding, pretend soldiers looking to play army for a week or two.

Just wait them out. Once they get hungry enough, the rats will move off looking for food.

Then the FBI will pay deadbeat Bundy a visit.

But maybe you assume, incorrectly, such are supported by those you cite.
Just a gentle nudge toward objectivity, Sammy.

If you were first and foremost family men you wouldn't have left behind your family to go play around at domestic terrorist fantasy camp.

Besides being an absurdly wrong equivalency, OWS didn't need to beg for money.
How can you equate a bunch of low-information seditionist losers to OWS anyway?
OWS brought attention to the abuses of Wall St. in a peaceful and inclusive manner while these armed yahoos are protecting a moocher who thinks he is entitled to be exempt from paying land use fees.

The cop that "watered the hippies" at Berkley got $38,000 in compensation for the emotional damage caused to him by the threats made against him after his identity was made public by internet vigilantes. OWS was evicted and dragged off. Nothing has been done to advance their demands.

The Bundy protest has not been evicted, rural Sheriffs have begun announcing that the fed rules no longer apply, and the BLM is now facing legal battles in several states.

For low info racists, they sure seem much more effective at protesting than the OWS crowd.

No they are not. They are a joke outside the RW bubble. That's why nobody has done anything about them, they don't matter.

The cattle are still there. Bundy is not in jail. Nobody ever did get a picture of the alleged roadblocks. Another Sheriff stood around and watched the ATV protest. Other Sheriffs have announced they won't enforce BLM law. BLM is in fights with states now.

Here's OWS because they did not have a means to resist eviction:

People were raped by crazy homeless people who wandered around the camps. Not by OWS members. But the bankers, who wanted to turn the tide of public opinion, sold you SUCKERS the story that OWS was full of violent rapists so that you would stop seeking justice for the damage the bankers had just caused you.

If the FBI wants to break up a peaceful movement, they have a long track record of putting someone on the inside to turn it violent.

OWS was the only real grassroots movement for the interest of the average american in decades, and you suckers took the banks' side. They're STILL laughing at you.

So, at times large events can be infiltrated, even by happenstance, by a bunch of nuts or loons....and the presence of those folks will be captured and used by the opposition to marginalize the entire event and everyone in attendance.

Hmmmmm....I think you're right and I've seen that done here to other movements as well.

Don't say that's what happened at the Bundy ranch. The only movements the government bothers to squash are the ones that threaten the plutocrats and billionaires. If you're acting in their interests - like the tea party - you are allowed to make as much noise as you like.

I didn't realize it was an FBI plant who took a dump on a cop car.

I guess those who hate the tea party need to get better plants, as nobody has ever been arrested at a Tea Party protest, nor has there ever been any property damage complaints.

OWS was full of both.

#31 | Posted by JeffJ

So was I. Why would the elites want to smear the tea party? The elites CREATED the tea party to make it seem like the average american wanted lower taxes on the rich and reduced regulations.

OWS on the other hand, was the first real threat to the elites in generations - so the media was filled with stories about poop on a police car and rapes etc in order to get suckers to turn away from the OWS movement.

They pointed guns at people and got their way. That's not protesting. The government was scared to treat these people appropriately because they don't want create martyrs for crazed McVeigh types. Hopefully it was a strategic retreat rather than a surrender. Letting these dirtbags get away with it would send a horrible message.

So, it's either bankers who are in bed with Washington, or unemployed dweebs with worthless college degrees who want to be in bed with Washington?

It's really that binary?
