Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, May 13, 2014

An attorney for Casey Kasem's wife Jean said that the legendary radio DJ has been removed from the country, prompting a judge to order an investigation into his whereabouts on Monday. Kasem, 82, suffers from advanced Parkinson's disease and can no longer speak. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel S. Murphy ordered a court investigator and adult protective services to find out where he is being treated. Daughter Kerri Kasem sought a temporary conservatorship and was appointed her father's temporary caretaker Monday.

Family is fighting over who is going to take care of him. When I'm his age, my family will be fighting over who has to take care of me.

Boz Scagg's father died of it a block away from where we were living at the time

Boz Scaggs used to drop by the house on alternate Tuesdays to jam with me and my garage band. He'd always park down the street and walk over so no one would know it was him. We'd get him to play "Fly Like an Eagle" over and over. He'd laugh like a crazy person and always had the best weed.

Cool. His younger brother Jimmy and I went to school from K-12 together. Boz (real name Bill after his father) would pretend we had world breaking "experiements" in our "lab" which was actually a big brick BBQ pit in the backyard when we were in first grade. He played at my senior prom since it was his brother's graduating class. Steve Miller made a surprise visit and did two or three songs. This was when his album "The Joker" was on the charts.

Small world, Harry. Did Boz teach you anything worthwhile about music when he dropped by?

Fight over money. i hope the guy is being taken care of; he might be in Mexico or Canada. He presided over a much more innocent world of music (not that the music biz ever was).
