A Texas judge ordered an admitted rapist to spend 45 days in jail, plus 5 years probation and 250 hours of community service at a rape crisis center where volunteers work directly with victims. Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center executive director Bobbie Villareal is strongly opposed to the sentence. "That's like saying a pedophile should do their community supervision helping at a pre-school," Villareal said.

The judge who issued Sir Young's sentence, State District Judge Jeanine Howard, justified her sentence by saying the girl wasn't a virgin and "wasn't the victim she claimed to be." Young, now 20, was 18 and the victim 14 when the crime occurred. "He is not your typical sex offender," Howard told the Dallas Morning News.

It probably seemed like a good idea at the time (assuming one had been kicked in the head by a mule).

This sentence reminds me of those sharia courts that order rapists to marry their victims. Texas Justice!

Because putting him away for years so he'll become a hardened criminal and never have any use to or empathy for society would always be so much better, regardless of the circumstances and his prior record.

"The judge went on to say that her decision was based on several factors, including medical records which she says show the 14-year-old girl had given birth to a baby prior to the sexual assault."

In other words, she's a ---- who deserved it.

Curiosity got to me so I clicked on the link.If Hussein Obama had a son he would probably look just like the handsome 20 year old Sir Young. I am sure that the young lady (no picture available) has the same complexion, or Mr Young would have been sentenced to 30 years or more

It Texas ya-know

There's no question his actions deserve punishment. Does that mean we shouldn't have judges involved in sentencing, and impose mandatory minimums? Should a high school student who was probably also underage only weeks before the crime was committed always be given the same sentence as a teacher or janitor or even college student? Should they not allow plea bargains (which this case was), resulting in the guy possibly walking away without any punishment at all?
