Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, February 19, 2014

Nestle USA has announced a voluntary recall of packages of its Philly Steak and Cheese flavored Hot Pockets over possible meat contamination. The pockets were found to contain meat that was part of the massive Rancho Feeding Corporation beef recall last week. The USDA has not reported any illnesses in relation to the beef recall or the Hot Pocket recall. The recall does not affect Hot Pockets Chicken and Cheddar with Broccoli, Barbecue Chicken, Cheeseburger, Meatballs and Mozzarella, Barbecue Beef, Pepperoni Pizza, Bacon, Egg and Cheese, Four Meat and Four Cheese Pizza, Ham & Cheese or Hot Pockets Soylent Green.

What kind of Tobasco goes with steak? Red or green? I'm thinking green.

Trick question. Tabasco goes with everything, in any flavor.

I am the believer of if I can't ID the part of the animal the meat comes from I don't eat it.

USDA inspects meat and poultry not FDA. They've done trials of self-inspection for many years and the plants that do it are as good or better than federally inspected plants...we need more consumer activism but we need the activists to be educated about the issues.

Helpful advice:

Even after they say it is safe to eat them again, don't eat Hot Pockets. Ever.

Yeah, the headline should be truncated to "Don't Eat Hot Pockets".

Unless you're under 20. Then it really doesn't matter.
