Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Sudden and violent turbulence on a Montana-bound United Airlines flight Tuesday caused "20 solid seconds of pandemonium," said passenger Ejay Old Bull. The incident occurred on a Boeing 737-300 flying 34,000 feet over Wyoming that was headed for Billings. An unbelted male passenger hit the luggage compartment over his seat and was briefly knocked unconscious, a flight attendant bounced around the galley and a baby was propelled from the arms of a parent, landing safely in an empty seat across the aisle. "As we leveled off you heard a father cry out, 'Where's my baby?' That's when I turned around and heard a guy say, 'It's right here,'" passenger Joe Frank said.

I was in a company jet once when it went through a thunderstorm. You cannot believe how fast a plane can drop from under you until you experience it. From that day I alway belt up.

Sounds like the baby was the only one who had any fun on this roller coaster ride.

At first I thought this was related to that State Senator throws 4-year-old child story.

Similar experience on a Delta flight to Florida...and when you see the flight attendant run down the aisle and strap herself in looking worried...
that's about when I started to worry.

What I found shocking wasn't so much the drastic up and down so much as the force of the stop on the down part. Very abrupt like the whole plane was dropped onto the ground and it felt like the plane wouldn't be able to take it.
