Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, February 17, 2014

A 15-year-old girl in Little Rock, Ark., was shot and killed by a homeowner early Saturday as she and other teens put leaves, eggs and mayonnaise on a car as part of a prank war with the homeowner's son. Adrian Broadway, 15, was with six other teens when Willie Noble, 48, came out of the house and fired at their vehicle. She was hit in the head and died from her injuries at a hospital. "Apparently Mr. Noble's teenage son had done a prank on some of the kids that were inside the vehicle on Halloween Night. As a result they were doing a retaliation prank and it ultimately had deadly results," said police Lt. Sidney Allen.

Gotta wonder why he didn't shoot warning shots...... senseless.. I don't know about the "terrorist acts" but I agree with everything else....

Warning shots? For egging a car? Does TP'ing a house get met with a flamethrower? My guess is that anyone who pulls out a gun for that sort of thing isn't playing with a full deck to begin with.

Warning shots? Because he wanted to kill them, not warn them.

It's about time these trigger happy maniacs get charged with what it is. Terrorism.

I know ranchers who've given warning shots to coyotes and this creep couldn't bring himself to do it for humans who weren't actively posing a threat to anyone's life?

All the defense has to prove is whether the girl was 'viable' or not.

#7 | Posted by Diablo at 2014-02-18 01:38 AM | Reply | Flag:

Just guns keeping us free. To some it seems a high price to pay, but consider the alternative: If we weren't allowed to have guns, this guy wouldn't even have a car for teenagers to egg. We'd all be living in a dictatorship, eating dirt.

The defendant has the right to wield his weapon in accord with law. He also has the right to a fair trial. Based on the article, may he be found guilty.

"'viable' or not."

Jeez, dude, give it a rest.

I wonder if this will end up like the Detroit case where the guy shot the girl in the face with a shotgun.

Many here threw fit because he wasn't arrested, tried and executed promptly enough for their tastes.

They were pretty quiet then (except for that one ------...can't remember his name now) when he was arrested the next week and charged.

I don't have a problem with people who want to own guns. Indeed, I would encourage that.

I do, however, have a significant issue with irrational people who own guns. A Very Significant Issue.

Since when have eggs and mayonnaise become a life-threatening issue, worthy of shooting a child?

He obviously saw a hard-boiled and felt threatened. Murder charges, must be white.

Eggs and mayonnaise are the white man's version of iced tea and skittles.

I have literally beat the hell out of teenagers for attempting to Halloween "prank" my place.

Old enough to come at my property......old enough to take the ass wooping for it too.

Goes double for little thieves. Old enough to go getting into my car and try to steal from me(while I was at work as a pizza delivery driver at the time in College!) You WILL get your ass beat.

courts charged him with terroristic acts... people are starting to believe they can kill with impunity and calling it self defence after going on the offensive... yes

Was this a perfect excuse to shoot a trespasser? Maybe not. But give the guy a break. He's probably been fantasizing about blowing an intruder away for years without getting an opportunity. So yeah, this wasn't the best excuse to shoot someone but its the only one he had. Not everyone can win hit the lottery.

Can't agree with the terrorist part. Excuse me for my lingering respect for what was once the English language, but how exactly was he trying to achieve political change through acts of violence calculated to bring fear? This was murder, plain and simple.

With the price of ammo you can't afford to shoot warning shots.

Terroristic Threat is often a domestic violence charge, & does not involve political terrorism. From a lawyer's website: "1) A person is guilty of a crime of the third degree if he threatens to commit any crime of violence with the purpose to terrorize another or to cause evacuation of a building, place of assembly, or facility of public transportation, or otherwise to cause serious public inconvenience, or in reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror or inconvenience. 2) A person is guilty of a crime of the third degree if he threatens to kill another with the purpose to put him in imminent fear of death under circumstances reasonably causing the victim to believe the immediacy of the threat and the likelihood that it will be carried out."

Firing a weapon does not resemble either of above descriptions. Police are covering all the bases.

("I will kill you IF you...etc." is a conditional threat, and may not be prosecuted.)

Maybe not life threatening, but depending on what kind of car he has maybe.

I assume this psycho was yelling all kinds of crazy stuff during the incident.

We're talking about a very unstable lowlife here.

like I keep saying, we don't have a gun problem, we have a gun permit problem.

#32 | Posted by path at 2014-02-19 03:39 PM | Reply | Flag:

BTW, I believe gun permits should undergo extensive background and psychiatric checks and require renewal every 4 years like driver's licenses.

#33 | Posted by path at 2014-02-19 03:41 PM | Reply | Flag:

#33 I agree, but it would be seen as the way the government will take away everyones guns.
A first step might be to require permits to have a co-signer that vouches for the applicants responsibility and maybe accepts some liability. Similar to loans or passports, having someone co-sign might reduce the number of loner nutbars getting guns. All without requiring that the government approve of all permits, which would cause the gun nuts to flip out.
