Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, February 15, 2014

The Norwegian mass killer Anders Breivik has threatened to go on hunger strike until he gets a Sony Playstation 3 video game console, according to a letter received by news agency Agence France Presse Friday. The right-wing extremist -- who killed 77 people in a bombing and shooting rampage on July 22, 2011 -- demanded the replacement of a PS2 games console for a more recent PS3 "with access to more adult games that I get to choose myself" as well as a sofa or armchair instead of a "painful" chair. "Other inmates have access to adult games while I only have the right to play less interesting kids games. One example is "Rayman Revolution", a game aimed at three year olds," wrote Breivik, who is 35.

"Ila near Oslo and Skien in southeast Norway -- where he is serving out a 21-YEAR SENTENCE."

I'm incredulous. Is this for real. You can murder 77 people in Norway in cold blood then receive only 21 years

On 24 August 2012 Breivik was adjudged sane and sentenced to containment -- a special form of a prison sentence that can be extended indefinitely -- with a time frame of 21 years and a minimum time of 10 years, the maximum penalty in Norway.[103] Breivik's lead counsel Geir Lippestad confirmed that his client would not appeal the sentence.[104]

I predict he lives for approximately 2 hours after getting out.

Can they transfer him to a country where assisted suicide is legal?

They should cram tubes down his throat and force feed him for the rest of his sentence and tie him to a chair with the images of those 77 people flashing in front of him.

WTF are inmates doing with PlayStations in the first place? It is prison isn't it?
I say take away his PS2, let him sit on the floor, and let him starve.

He didn't ask for a PS4. People are going to start thinking this guy makes poor decisions.

Yeah! Why rehabilitate anyone by treating them like humans beings when you can strip them down to animal levels!

That said this guy cannot be rehabilitated and is a good definition of why the Death Penalty exists.

Nuthin' but Pong, baby. Nuthin' but Pong.

The crime here is that he is still breathing.

If they are not going to kill him, they sure as hell should be sure his living conditions are less than nice. I'd recommend his living conditions be just barely shy of so crappy as to be considered 'cruel and unusual' in the late 1700s.

Don't want a life of living conditions that are borderline 'cruel and usual' as defined in the 1700s? Then don't be a mass murderer. (They could also use the 1800s or 1600s but I'd steer shy of definitions of 'cruel and unusual' from after 1900 for this....).

The anti-death penalty folks say life in prison is 'worse', they spend a mint in money taken from decent people, AND advocate for nicer prisons.

(Having said the above, nicer prisons are appropriate in some cases, but ONLY for prisoners worth reforming and releasing....).

Harry,

Pong happens to be a CLASSIC and deserves due respect.

The cry baby should get nothing but games from this list.
