CBS has reached a deal with the NFL to air eight games on Thursday night in the first half of the season and two late-season Saturday night games. Jim Nantz and Phil Simms will call the games. CBS, which broadcast its first NFL game in 1956, had the rights to air NFC games from 1970 to 1993 and has owned the AFC rights since 1998.

Not a fan of Thursday night football. Usually bad games on the short week.
If the NFL is serious about player safety (which I doubt) they would either eliminate Thursday football or give the teams a bye (sp?) the previous week so the players are not working on a short week.

I hated the NFL encroaching on Thursday nights when it began, but now I'm completely addicted. Those two days off between weeks of the season are about as much as I can tolerate.

It is a pleasure to watch a game, any NFL game, after a long day of work. I wish they had a different game every night of the week.

I don't get CBS. Something about the station location in Alabama. Only ABC and NBC.

Of the once 'top four' networks, Rcade. Cable has slaughtered them all.
