Authorities in Italy said a 50-year-old man posed as a cat lover to adopt more than a dozen cats he would kill and eat. The animal welfare organization Aidaa said the man adopted at least 15 cats over the course of several months from multiple Brianza province shelters and raised suspicions among officials when he offered excuses for avoiding routine checks on the welfare of the adopted cats. Aidaa President Lorenzo Croce said the man adopted "black cats with specific characteristics. They had to be around 3 years old, and quite plump."

i loved Craig Ferguson's line, oft repeated by him: [if you die
alone in your apartment with your cat, IT WILL EAT YOU!"]

" "So, the next time you're falling asleep on the couch with the
football game on, take a look at your cat. He's not watching
you because he's enamored of you; he's checking to see if
your chest is still moving." Oh, those wacky pathologists."

Those cats still had a better life than a pig or cow at a factory farm.

[...] why do cats have more rights than cattle, pigs, chickens or any other domesticated animal? I wouldn't eat one, but I wouldn't charge someone who ran over one on a highway with hit and run, either.

I wouldn't eat a cat but I don't see how it is ethically wrong.

#8 How do you know? Deep, meaningful conversations in front of the fire while sipping a lovely cabernet and sharing mouse-biscuits?

On another note: Did anyone but me read the article title and think it might be about an upcoming marijuana-themed marathon?

#10 I was thinking about Puff the Magic Dragon:

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,
Little Jackie paper loved that rascal puff,
And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff. oh
