Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

At the Grammy Awards, 34 gay and straight couples will take part in an on-air wedding officiated by Queen Latifah, part of the hip-hop duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis's performance of their song "Same Love." The nominated song became a marriage-equality anthem last year. A casting agency was hired to find the couples, who at first were told only that the ceremony would take place on live television. The couples each signed confidentiality agreements promising not to tell even their families.

used to watch the grammies...back when it wasn't just one freak after another or others who have to use a gimmick to call attention to themselves since they have little to no talent.

This comment shows you don't have any idea what the Grammys is like today and must not have seen it for a long time.

May God bless them in spite of their genetic and/or psychological deformities. I for one wish them loving happiness in spite of how they were used in political spectical.

#9 - you notice what all those bands have in common?

1- no gimmicks
2- serious ability to play actual instruments,
3- anti-establishment.

#12 No gimmicks for sure, most played well (Rush and Yes especially) but I don't think they we're anti-establishment, just not Top-40 material.

#13 TOR if forgot other no name acts: The Who, Hendrix, Marley, The Doors, countless others.

I heard this today in reference to The Grammys:

In 1964, the Beatles released 4 albums in the US:

Introducing...the Beatles!
The Beatles Second Album
A Hard Day's Night
Something New

At the Grammys in 1964:

Who won Record of the Year? The Girl from Ipanema
Song of the Year? Hello, Dolly!
Best Rock and Roll recording? Downtown; Petula Clark

Anyone remember Metallica thanking Jethro Tull for not making anymore albums after losing to Tull the previous year for Best Rock Album?

The Grammys SUCK

Why is much of the right so offended? Isn't people getting married a beautiful thing?

"Isn't people getting married a beautiful thing?"

Not always.

I'm only interested in these tacky idiots because I'm curious to see who's marriage fails first.

Americans are finally grasping at the fact that Hollywood and the "news" media are not at all their friend, because their sole mission is promoting an agenda of dividing the sheep and rewarding the wolves. Think about it for a second and you might understand.

Everything the media promotes is intended to enhance the 1% bottom line and their political power, and strip more power from the 99%. The Ds and Rs are bipartisan players who intentionally take from the 99% while enabling the 1%.

"At the Grammy Awards, 34 gay and straight couples will take part in an on-air wedding..."

It has nothing to do with music and everything to do with telling America how much the music industry hates us.

"The Hollywood Left are a bunch of hypocrites. They've spent decades mocking marriage in both word and deed. Do you think these people really believe in everything marriage is supposed to represent…fidelity, permanence, monogamy, and faithfulness? Hollywood has never cared about marriage at all…even back in the golden age of the 30s and 40s most entertainers had sham marriages…they only married under pressure from managers and studio executives. Then came the sexual revolution of the 60s, and then Hollywood shed even the pretense of respect for marriage. Then the Left just told us what they really thought, that marriage was an oppressive burgeoisie institution that stifled human actualization.

Now all of a sudden, because it's a "gay" issue, Hollywood has had a complete 180 and decided that they believe in the importance and sanctity of marriage after all. Of course only a fool would believe they are sincere about this. These people have no respect for marriage. And frankly, most gays don't care about it either. It's all about sticking their middle finger at traditional America. Once the Supreme Court rams gay marriage down our throats and SSM becomes a "settled issue", these celebrity fools will go back to telling us what they really think about marriage…that it's outdated, oppressive, blah blah blah."

Wow. So your hatred of gays proves how Hollywood and the left hates you? Maybe you people should stop hating. America isn't Russia or Iran.
