The Al Shrptons and Jesse Jacksons of the world get rich and stay relevant promoting it
And Republicans win the WH with Willie Horton and McCain's black baby and other seats with ads featuring black politicians supposedly going after the white wimmen.
many minorities will never vote for a conservative no matter what because of what the liberals promise them.
Blacks voted (where they were allowed to) for Republicans and the Party of Lincoln until they realized that freeing the slaves was about as far as the GOP was willing to go to end racism in their Party. FDR won them over by actually letting them be part of his efforts to end Hoover's depression.
And before trotting out the old tired canards about the Civil Rights Act being Republican, remember more elected DEMOCRATS, north and SOUTH voted for it than northern or southern Republicans did. And yes, southern Democrats (as well as southern Republicans)were segregationists until LBJ signed that Act, then they became Republicans.
And before digging up Bobby Byrd, dig up Jesse Helms. At least Byrd recanted. Helms and the GOP never did:
On the heels of a number of racial gaffes and missteps comes perhaps the most notable Republican racial misfire of 2013: Last week Tea Party darling Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas said in a speech, "We need 100 more like Jesse Helms in the U.S. Senate."
For those who may not appreciate the significance of Cruz's comment, here's an analogy: Imagine if President Barack Obama gave a speech and said, "We need 100 more like Louis Farrakhan."
Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott of Mississippi praised South Carolina's notorious segregationist Sen. Strom Thurmond, saying, "I want to say this about my state: When Strom Thurmond ran for president we voted for him. We're proud of it. And if the rest of the country had of followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over all these years, either."
As was noted by critics, Thurmond ran on a segregationist platform, saying during his campaign, "I want to tell you, ladies and gentleman, that there's not enough troops in the Army to force the Southern people to break down segregation and admit the Nigra race into our theaters, into our swimming pools, into our homes and into our churches."
